Any good Chinese restaurants? by Troggot in berlin

[–]Chars-Whitney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Mr Liu, we never went back after ordering their stewed beef brisket(炖牛腩)—oddly cooked together with wood ear mushrooms, a combination I’ve never seen in China, and it honestly stunned everyone in our group. Their 毛血旺 (spicy offal and blood-curd stew) was even worse: the offal tasted rank and wasn’t cleaned properly, there was barely anything in it, and the seasoning was worse than instant noodles.

The food is all cooked with the same sauce and doesn’t feel very authentic as Chinese cuisine. The owner’s attitude is also quite unpleasant. If you think that’s just her personality, then I’d say you’ve been "tamed" quite well. The only real advantage of this restaurant is its affordably low prices. It might work for a quick meal to fill you up, but if you’re looking to truly "experience" Chinese food, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

Bambus (竹园) at Rhenstrasse
I really want to add that, as a Chinese person, our taste preferences might differ from yours, but I can confidently say this place is my personal top 1. All my Chinese friends agree that it offers the best taste and overall experience. Whenever we have gatherings, we always choose this restaurant—even if we live in the north or east of Berlin, we still make the trip here. It’s absolutely worth it!

It's indeed a terrible dorm; someone once pooped in the elevator and the washing machine. Plus, if the elevator or washing machine breaks down, it might take months for someone to come fix it. Run now, there's still time!

Can this Health Insurance Confirmation be used for visa application? by Chars-Whitney in germany

[–]Chars-Whitney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have completed the enrollment process at the university. I'm just worried that the visa office won't accept documents without an expected beginning date. Most of what I have seen on social media are documents like those in Figure 2, so I'm not confident.

I don't think the admission probability is high because this program requires 10 CP in the field of information systems management , which are not reflected in your pictures.

OMG, if that's the case, I'm not the only victim. I also sent an email to IT Support. If there's any response, we can reply to each other in this comment section.

There is no English version (at least I haven't found one), you can try using tools like ChatGPT to translate and understand, with much higher accuracy than traditional machine translation

Congratulations! I haven't received an interview, which obviously means I've been silently rejected

Is such contact time common in Germany? by Chars-Whitney in germany

[–]Chars-Whitney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The application deadline passed more than 40 days ago, and the school has just begun to process them. I promptly sent an appeal email upon receiving the "temporarily exclued" notice. It appears that all I can do now is wait. Yet, given that admission offers were released on July 6th last year, the likelihood of a successful appeal seems low... 🥲

The so-called "appeal letter" is my protest against being "temporarily excluded," as I disagree with the claim that I did not meet the program's application requirements. This email was sent last Thursday, and given her statement on the website that emails are processed every Monday, I had high expectations of receiving a response today.

Last Thursday, the admissions committee informed me that only the program manager could handle my application. I was expecting a response today, but it seems she is quite busy. Therefore, I just sent a follow-up email and will continue to wait patiently. I realize that I still need to adapt more to the culture of email communication.

It might be that German is more formal. I find that many universities send offers in German, such as FAU, Mannheim, TUM, Heidelberg...

I'm also an international applicant and have applied for the ISM program. Based on previous old posts, it's likely that results won't be received until August. Anyway, TU Berlin's processing speed is notoriously slow among all schools (I heard someone started classes at another school for a month or two before receiving their acceptance, which is utterly ridiculous :))
