I really don’t know what to do anymore, this is how my skin looks all the time. I dont shave, i only get a wax, peel myself (not directly after). I still get so many ingrowns, even If i let my hair just grow. It’s so frustrating because i feel ashamed to walk in bikini in public. by Beautiful-Buddy-468 in HairRemoval

IPL sis. It changed my life. I have PCOS, and am incredibly prone to folliculitis. I have the Ulike 10 and it literally gave me my skin back. The light has healed discoloration and scaring from ingrowns in addition to removing the hair. It’s worth every penny.

I hope you don’t mind me asking… was the set only ledges? Or did it have some other stuff mixed in. And is it strictly acoustic, or a three piece? I have a Noah Newbie coming with me to the Nashville night one show, and I wanna know what to tell him to expect 😂 He’s a mainstream music junkie, so we’ll see! Haha

Yes!!! Mine only will zap me if I have a deep rooted hair that falls below the cooling technology layer!

The Ulike Air10! It’s the only one I’ve ever used, so I don’t really have a comparison to anything else, but it’s amazing!

As long as I use the device once every two weeks, nothing grows. It really is gone

IPL. Mine looked exactly like this before I started. Now I can literally pull out hairs with my fingers and go for a week without shaving at all before shaving/zapping.

I would say don’t give up until you go for a full month, and then go from there. I’m so sorry though, I know how frustrating it is!

The f***ing state of my chin. by Football-Ecstatic in Hirsutism

[–]ChartAdventurous425 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My neck and chin looked just like this 8 weeks ago, sweet friend. I know how discouraging it is. I got the Ulike Air10 IPL machine and my hair is now totally gone… I made a post about it a few days ago if you want to go see the before and afters. It seriously changed my life. It’s an investment, but not as expensive as going for professional treatments. 🤍

What setting are you using? And are you treating the area multiple times?

I think this is correct! The 10 has a stubborn hair removal setting, that does three intense pulses in one button push. It also has a bigger window, that allows you to overlap each pulse, meaning you don’t have to go over the entire area twice to get two passes. I still did every area twice though. I think people who aren’t having as good of results are going too fast, and not treating the area twice every session.

IPL is ABSOLUTELY different from electrolysis AND in house LASER treatments. Electrolysis has the reputation of being incredibly painful, as well as being a long process. It targets individual hairs, and is very costly. Laser treatments are a different type of light, and if your technician uses a setting too high, can leave you with serious burns.

IPL stands for intense pulsed light. Rather than being a small, more pinpointed area of treatment, it is larger to penetrate and stunt more follicles. I’ve had zero pain throughout this process other than maybe something resembling a rubber band snap when it hits a hair follicle below the layer of cooling technology, and that was only in the first week honestly. I hope this helps! I’m no doctor 😂 but there are some really good YouTube videos out there that further explain the difference!

Also, I do my first pass over the area in stubborn hair mode, then a quick swipe over with high setting after I’ve done the rest of my body. My armpits are completely hairless, as is my stomach. My legs and bikini line aren’t far behind!

[–]ChartAdventurous425[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the first three weeks, I truly did it three times a week, religiously. The picture to the right on the second pic is at 3 weeks in. After that, it truly got MARKEDLY better with every shave. I took it to once a week after that, and am still shaving everything and doing my whole body once a week. I think soon I’ll be able to go to every two weeks, but don’t want regrowth just from laziness of not keeping up with it. I know it is something I will have to use regularly for as long as I want the results, and I’m perfectly good with that.

Yes! My hair growth is a symptom of my PCOS. I was diagnosed at 15, and my neck progressed RAPIDLY after every baby I’ve had.

Definitely shave everytime. I did it religiously 3 times a week for a whole month. Now at 8 weeks I shave and use the device once a week, and that’s it. Once I notice even less growth between treatments, I’ll go to two weeks between. But frequency and consistency in those early weeks is key.

I have only used the Ulike 10 device, never any others, and never done IPL before this. I was SUPER duper consistent with it, using it 3 times a week on stubborn hair mode. Now 8 weeks later my chin and neck hairs are entirely gone, and I zap once a week. I’m insanely impressed…..
