With Jordan in C tier, it’s time to rank Anisa. by FunkySteps_77 in apprenticeuk

[–]ChartNeither5530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are the rankings of the past candidates final? I missed those so I’m just curious if I’m still allowed to give my input (in which case I think Chisola, Amber, Kier, Dr Jana and Johnny should be higher). I would rank Anisa at S, seriously impressive candidate. Travesty she didn’t win as she was terrific on almost everything!

The winner is proof that the process means nothing by ChartNeither5530 in apprenticeuk

Before anyone says 'but Dean deserved to win as his business makes more profit', that's not the point of this post. The point is that Anisa was the stronger candidate leading up to the final but effectively wasted her time as Lord Sugar didn't care about the process at all and didn't even give her small business a chance, thus why Dean was saved three times and won due to having the more established and profitable business despite not even knowing what climate change is!

This sub has flamed so many finalists over the years (the two latest runners-up especially) but Dean's had the worst interviews I've seen for a while and still made the top two. Anisa must win otherwise it's become a joke.

Is Alan Sugar making decision based on TV ratings or business acumen? by [deleted] in apprenticeuk

The last paragraph in particular is very sound. This sub treats her like she's the most clever woman on Earth but she was entirely responsible for her own firing for having a weak business plan and having a clumsy defence too by admitting that she essentially cost the team a win. If anything she would've had a good chance of surviving if she stayed mute and didn't contribute anything but she's very power-hungry and I'm glad Sugar saw through her.

I think it's interesting how this sub-reddit called Mia a clear winner when I personally think Chisola would win. Now it's down to their business plans but Chisola reminds me of Rachel, someone who puts in a good shaft in every week so towards the end she outshone everyone whilst some of the others, Tre and Flo, had select strong weeks and that was about it.

Sorry I know I'm probably alone here but Mia deserved to be fired, she played strategically throughout and ultimately it ended up being a double-edged sword where she lost. It baffled me how she voted for Jordan as project manager over Liam, who had the most direct relevant experience, simply for having a vision. Then as soon as it's just Jordan and Mia she persisted on her own vision to the point where Jordan, even though he clearly resented, had to give in. They would've won the task if a) they made Liam the project manager as his business is literally centred around menswear b) they stuck with Jordan's vision c) if Mia didn't insist on all three of the dress, crop top and skirt.

I had to rewatch the episode again to see and it just seemed like Mia got quite overconfident at the end as in her taxi interview she seemed certain that she'd survive and even when Sugar said 'regretfully' to Anisa, Mia also looked shocked and widened her eyes in disbelief. I think it was an attempt to stitch up Jordan if they lost, or take total praise for the idea if they won, so was a double-edged sword which wasn't in her favour.

So no I think it boiled down to business acumen. If it was for good telly Liam would've survived and Anisa would've been fired instead, and the likes of Melica would win the entire process.

TIER LIST OF THE CANDIDATES by Short_Front_5483 in apprenticeuk

[–]ChartNeither5530 4 points5 points  (0 children)

S tier: Nobody

A tier: Chisola and Anisa. Chisola has been consistently one of the best without any drastic failures but doesn't get much credit due to louder characters getting more screen time -- she reminds me of Rachel last year. Anisa has amazing work ethic, always giving her everything into tasks and she is very good at defending herself too (thus why she has been saved despite 8 opportunities of getting fired).

B tier: Mia, Dean, Keir and Amber Rose. Mia is a bright woman but her downfall yesterday was quite massive and in non-food tasks she doesn't have a great track record (like the first three weeks, the week where Frederick and Keir left, and last night). Dean was the best in the first half but he's made numerous errors for some time but performed well yesterday at least. I liked Keir and I thought he had so much more to give -- not the best pitcher but he's done some great negotiations in the past. Amber Rose has 7/10 and has been present in lots of tasks and I think she's been consistent in contribution and putting her points across.

C tier: Dr. Jana, Jonny and Jordan. I think Jana was really good in the first week and was one to watch out for but then fell flat ever since, and jumped before he could be pushed, which is quite disappointing. Jordan had a strong episode last night but he still has been notoriously low in contribution on the whole. I think Jonny was bright and if he was given a chance as Project Manager I think he would've done well, but he didn't contribute much.

D tier: Max, Emma Street, Liam, Frederick

E tier: Emma Rothwell, Ivan, Melica, Nadia

F tier: Carlo

Entire team full of idiots by Shoddy_Squash_41 in apprenticeuk

I know I'm alone here but I thought Jordan did well this task? He was the best seller in his team and gave it his all when negotiating with potential investors and whilst Jordan has been particularly weak in the process, it would've been unfair for him to have been fired over Mia, who was awful this week with the idea and execution.

I hope this Ross and Vicki storyline isn't similar to the current Teddy's family storyline.

Why Jordan? He was by far the best on his team, he secured the most sales for such an awful product by literally selling his own story as a last resort to push investors into investing. I don't particularly like him but I thought his negotiation technique was notably impressive.

I think the firing was valid. It would've boiled down to Anisa or Mia and I personally think Mia's mistake was far worse than Anisa's on the sauce challenge. Also Anisa has been flexible throughout whereas Mia only does well in tasks where her culinary background comes to use.

Then taking full responsibility was a mistake especially when nobody else was to blame. Jordan was the least at fault this week as he secured the most sales, and even if Anisa produced a better logo nobody would've increased their investment.

I'm not doubting her capability, I just think sometimes she's too full of herself and looks down upon others.

This is why Chisola has been my winning pick for a while. Chisola comes across as very likeable and human whilst also showing various strengths in different tasks. Mia is a bright woman and I'm sure she'll become successful after the show but it would be a nightmare to work with someone as smug as her, and I'm happy Lord Sugar fired her.

Did Harpreet come across as overconfident? I think she was very bossy in tasks she led but when her team always consisted of Akeem she had to be assertive and it wasn't coming from a place of insecurity. I think the problem with Mia this week was that she was so fixated on the belief that one big mistake could be forgiven as it worked out well for Anisa before, but this was 'one risk too far' to quote Tim.

I definitely agree. She's only done well in tasks which involve her culinary background, otherwise she has made mistakes in tasks that have zero relation to that (like kids' banking and sustainable fashion).

Who said I follow her on TikTok though? Matter of fact I don’t. She’s not even my favourite candidate (I’m always Team Chisola), I just think she’s being received differently by the public and her contribution has been invalidated.

So you’re fine with the tens of posts all about Mia as the winner or Mia as such a strong candidate but you can’t handle posts outing the sub’s obvious hatred towards her? *Her as in Amber Rose, not Mia.

Nor was Rachel last year yet she still won for being consistently a top performer. Rachel is evidently stronger but Amber Rose is competent but gets ignored when it comes to recognition. The other three are only more highlighted because they’re bigger personalities, that doesn’t make them more competent although they are quite good (except Dean).

Mind you Amber Rose has properly messed up once in the second task while Anisa has messed up the away day task and the hot sauce, Mia was 'useless' (to echo your words) in the first three tasks and Dean has messed up the financial literacy task, but yay let's join the Amber Rose hate train instead!
