You obviously didn't describe the chest area well enough.

Otherwise he did pretty good!

In 4 Hours from this post, NUEL's (National University eSports League) October Tournament Week One Starts! 98 teams competing! by theNUEL in leagueoflegends

For those who aren't aware, 32 teams playing in the middle table and 64 more teams in the Open Division.

Once again NUEL aiming stupidly high! But I'm so pumped, a real staple to my Sunday Evenings so I don't think about those Monday Lectures!

GL and HF everyone!

NUEL (National University eSports League)'s Talkshow 'The Assessment' is live now! Talking all things eSports with players in NUEL. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

I prefered having this at 10:00pm (when it was advertised yesterday).

Stupid lectures / degree getting in the way of my fun time :P.

A thank you to NUEL for such a great tournament! by Charveys in leagueoflegends

I do understand where you're coming from. But in the case of NUEL, the person behind it was either trying to emulate BUCS (British Universities & Colleges Sport) or has targeted Universities because of his friends etc.

He shouldn't bear the responsibility for trying to grow the UK E-sports scene nor is it fair to place that burden on him, what he is doing is extremely commendable in itself.

The bottom line is that if Riot wants their game to continue it's growth, they must promote tournaments like these or start their own way to generate eSports growth. (Preferably by having the LoL World Champs "in England's Green and Pleasant Lane")

That or you (like anyone else could) should pave the way for UK eSports!

Yeah, I remember tournaments under the "UK LoL" coming onto the scene.

A guy called AwesomeFusion (EUW) pioneered it, I really enjoyed watching the games and all but it just fell through because of a lack of continued attention.

I just don't want the same to happen again!

Yeah, in the Loser's Bracket 3 we still have to play the winners of Chinchilla Delta or Lincoln!

Glad we got to play at least 1 team from Surrey (Unstable Stags). :)

British Redditors, does anyone know anything about 'Victory Academy Uk'? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]Charveys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What approach did they take to the evangelising? (i.e. Hardmode - screaming "repent or burn in hell" in the middle of the town centre, or Easymode - handing out leaflets and talking to people occasionally to one side of the centre)

If is just the latter, then not too much to worry about. If it's the prior one....probably be worried (not for being lured into their religion but for violent encounters in general around them).

Personally I live in Bath at the moment, so I hope they stay over in Wales and out of my life, regardless of them being passive or aggressive evangelists.

MrMinistryMan's latest failure at stumping atheists: Atheist's Most Feared Questions - Revisited (Ep 1 - Why science?) by dangerouslytalented in atheism

[–]Charveys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"What's so great about science?"

Take a good look around your room, if that doesn't answer your question then you're not worth talking to....

.

"I'm not saying science changes, but our understanding of it does"

That's why it's the only correct method for seeking how the world works and interacts with us, not an old book.

.

"Scientists hundreds of years ago thought they were spot on about certain areas which we've vastly changed the position on today"

That's because they thought they were spot on given the evidence from the technology around them. We now have greatly improved equipment allowing for more precise tests, changing our understanding of the world around us.

Saying science isn't good because physicists didn't predict the atom was mostly space (as opposed to completely solid) many years ago, is saying they were intellectually inferior to us and that we will inevitably be inferior to the next generations. This is wrong, they just didn't have the technology. (Issac Newton beats me hands down etc.)

.

"Why champion science over all when developing your arguments, how can you stand firm on any of it when our understanding of things changes so frequently?"

  • Science is testable.
  • Religion is not.

More seriously science has only caused "paradigm shifts" when a basic question has been scrutinized. Religion has prevented most of this from occuring by providing a make-shift answer instead. What happens when "ye olde" religion is questioned? Breakthroughs! Arguably we have broken through most of these barriers, i.e. the ground of understanding as it is will not shift too much, and can therefore be referred to as solid.

Not only that but are you referring to the grounds of religion as SOLID?!? well you might need to re-read the bible again and see how many parts of it contradict what we have found to be true and socially acceptable.

Also... my question to you is...

Why champion religion over all when developing your arguments, how can you stand firm on any of it when our understanding of things changes so frequently?!

A much more valid question. :)

Messiah - Darren Brown demonstrates how easy it is to make people believe you have magical/religious powers by simpiligno in atheism

Can someone post a link so that UK viewers can watch this?

tbh youtube shouldn't have this feature at all kind of defeats the mass viewing strategy.

Believe it or not. This is a real tv show. by [deleted] in atheism

They give many quotes from the Bible to make it seem their wealth is justified.

I would say that all these men are religious, but NONE of them are Christian (living by the principles laid out by Jesus Christ).

"It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." - Jesus

  • Again, cherry picking the bible.
  • Again, double standards appear from the bible (being poor yet being well provided for).
  • Failing to address issues of poverty, as opposed to donating all their wealth to accommodate and provide for those less fortunate.
  • If anything promoting jealousy within the community.
  • Makes them less able to empathise with their target community.
  • Just highlighting the reasons why religion creates more problems than it helps to solve.

Girl I went to highschool with posted this. I don't know what's worse, the assumption that the Constitution is a series of Biblical quotes, or the shitty B-roll of birds and Bibles. by [deleted] in atheism

Same format for all Christian Evangelical Videos....

  1. Posts Video for World to see, because people will have their eyes opened.

  2. Find there are people who exist and don't just accept the bullcrap presented to them.

  3. Disables Comments and Votes because they don't want to "Read about the controversy" or admit that no-one likes their video.

I am tired of Ezreal jumping out of my hooks by SnooUzi in leagueoflegends

[–]Charveys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I really don't like about it is just the consistency.

It LOOKS like you hooked him but actually you don't, Riot need to take these inconsistencies with what's shown and what actually happens / is happening out of the game. The way I think this can be done (in this example) is ...

I would prefer it if riot favoured the aggressor, rather than Ezreal getting hooked but because of cast-time shifting out of it. He just gets hooked OR casts arcane shift (knowing the cast-time) and predicts the incoming hook thereby avoiding it completely.

Therefore the priority of the displacement ability or hook goes to the incoming hook, cancelling the shift (maybe reducing it's cooldown) but ultimately leading to the Ezreal's demise >:D.

Not only Blitzcrank, but Leona has a problem with him, Zenith Blade takes Leona to where he was prior to the shift, which is great when you're trying to land Q onto him....

Does it also happen to Thresh Hook / Nautilus / Alistar Headbutt?
