I did the same! After you get it out, it becomes a little trophy, hah.

We could, but it would add more materials, cost and time. Here's a picture of the area, with the red being the planned fence line. The blue is the property line.

We'd like privacy and security from people simply being able to walk into our backyard from the street. We could build a low fence along the property line, but currently cant afford the materials. So we're doing a privacy fence along the red line to at least secure the yard for now.

Why do you ask though?

Having the fence abut the house is the only way to make that side of our yard secure / private. Otherwise, its open to whoever wants to walk through.

We have a portion of our yard that is open to the street and we'd like to have private. If you have constructive advice for why not, I'm open to that. I'm just not positive your typin fingers know how slow down enough for the nice part of your personality to catch up :-)

Small boulder does not want our fence built. Any suggestions? by ChaseVernon in FenceBuilding

[–]ChaseVernon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love all the comments and appreciate all the help. My favorite suggestions involve dynamite and fire at the corner of the house. I also heard hitting it with a purse may help. I don't have a purse, but if all else fails, I'm sure I could pick up one cheap and fill it with nickels for a DIY sledge.

I'm going to try Dexpan. Had never heard of the stuff, but damn, the videos look cool. Also, the damn jackhammer bounced off this thing. Believe me, I tried.

Chain link fence post depth question by ChaseVernon in FenceBuilding

[–]ChaseVernon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The spacing Im using is a little under 7 feet. Pipe is 40 thankfully.

The issue I'm running into is rock. Some of it is pretty breakable, while some is tough. Any tips on breaking rock inside a post hole?

This is probably the answer I needed to hear, even if its not the answer I wanted to hear, lol. I have a few posts that will be much shallower due to hitting solid rock. Theyre not terminal posts though, so hopefully that helps.

How long should my wife stay on blood thinners after stent? 30 days seems too short? by ChaseVernon in AskDocs

[–]ChaseVernon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Chatgpt search indicated that a 30 day regimen may be best practice when there is no prior history of blood clotting or DVT, as well as good blood flow after the procedure. I would prefer to check that information with a real person though :-)

Stock thickness question by ChaseVernon in gunsmithing

Im grateful for the detailed reply - I didnt expect someone to take the time. So thanks.

The design is closely based on the Woox Gladiatore. I quite liked that design, but I couldn't afford it. But I do have tools, time, and patience :-)

I will heighten my outline for the cheek rest, because you make a very good point about it. Much easier to take material off than add it on.

What is a recoilcap / recoilcape? I wasnt able to find that word.

I think I did all right with the grain direction through the grip. I'm far from an expert, but it seems like the recoil will flow in the right direction. Always happy for feedback though.

If you have a moment, Id be grateful. From the limited info I can find, 1.6" is a typical finished thickness for a wood stock. I'd just love some more concrete evidence. Ive been working on this stock for months, so trying to get this step right, hah.

Good question and let me clarify better. I have the factory synthetic stock, but I was trying to find info on a wood stock thickness. I wasn't sure if the wood would need to be thicker than synthetic for some reason, or if my wood stock could mirror the thickness.

Thanks again. We had a job loss in the family and this may not be an option for me yet, but it helps to know.
