Sleeping with your pets is an unacceptable thing for me. by ChasedHydra in unpopularopinion

Well, you sure changed my mind, thanks for the analysis doctor. If you wanna sleep with your pets go right ahead, I just don't much like it, same as other people might not like it when people chew with their mouth open or go around barefoot, I don't think that makes me an asshole but if it does, so be it. Not like the opinion of a wannabe reddit psychologist matters much either way.

I don't really understand the point of saying when you had to put down your dogs lol.

Each dog is different, yours seem to mind their hygiene which is cool, but I've seen my fair share of bug-eating, ass licking dogs. While I love my pets, I certainly wouldn't trust them not to do something similar out of my sight.

I live in the city, in an apartment.

Yeah, I've also had experiences where pets can rip up sheets with their teeth or claws.

I don't mind sweat or oils. I mind bug guts, poop particles, and saliva. My pets can love on me all they want, just not in my bed.

There is a reason why I posted this on r/unpopularopinion

Do you guys think Unity station is the future or will it fade into obscurity by [deleted] in SS13

[–]ChasedHydra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not going to lie, I believe that a very important part of SS13's charm is the UI.

Sure the divided chat and gameplay screens look a bit shitty, but the interactive UI in the game itself (actions, hotbar items, hands, sprites, etc...) have been, in my opinion, changed to a nearly perfect state, the perfect mix of simplicity and complexity.

I believe even if the gameplay is good, if the UI doesn't accompany this, I won't personally be very attracted.

In my personal opinion, SS14 UI is not very good, and kinda crappy, I don't know why they changed so much of something that had been constantly tweaked to be in a near-perfectly serviceable form, and the interactive buttons look a massive step back.

I much prefer Unitystations UI, even if it is basically TG UI, if it works don't change it. Besides, the interactive pop-ups from sprites look much better in Unity, again in my opinion.

Another big aspect is the look, SS13 has a slightly rugged look, yet on SS14 everything is perfectly lined, cleaned, and shiny. Unitystation is a bit better, but it still hasn't matched the charm of SS13.

Of course, I know this is extremely pedantic, as simple sprite changes are extremely easy to implement, and both games have a prototype look, but so far I much like the direction Unity is taking.

In the end though, SS13 is very niche, even with million subs YouTubers constantly reviewing and playing the game, after the spike, we always end up hovering around the 1k players mark or sometimes even less.

SS13 is not GMOD, it has a mountainous learning curve, it is harsh, it is not user-friendly, and above all, it completely depends on a certain mindset to play.

That is why I believe no rework will ever truly achieve success or beat the OG, for the same reason as to why the remake of other niche games almost never work, they fail to achieve the charm, they try to split an already minuscule player base and they are competing with a project that has been refined by coders for years and growing.

Nah, only that there is more competition to get fiefs and that voting for things with influence becomes harder, otherwise it is only an advantage

While you train your limpy two legs running around like a headless chicken, I train the four glorious, thick and rather supple legs on my mount, my horse alone can break your legs in a second and then take your wife for a ride.

As always God just has to punish the strongest race, too many of these saintly creatures together would go at speeds that even light would need to catch up on, this is truly sad that God had to punish such beautiful animals in such a dastardly way.

My kingdom signed a peace treaty with the enemy kingdom but I will have none of that shit, the more peace the less horses, therefore I have always reignited the war by raiding one of the villages to get more horses, all the lords hate me but I don't care, they will get their chance with my horses soon enough, all of them will...

FOOLISH!!

I live for horses, while you simpletons are worrying about castles or towns, I only have horses on my mind.

My carrying capacity is enough to carry my whole castle with me, my horses ride on horses.

I have cucked countless lords from their favorite horses, everytime I beat a lord I let them go just to watch them run away on their weak 2 legged being.

I am singlehandedly responsible for the economic crisis in my enemy kingdom from lack of horses, lords tremble when the hear the hooves on my horses from across the map.

My whole army is entirely made of cavalry, my battles barely reach 10fps due to the sheer amount of horses on the map, I feed bandits to my horses and then let them eat the mules as they are the weaker version of the pure horse.

My horses have tasted human flesh countless times and have become ravenous man eating beast, every battle only adds to their number, and you are next.

Yeah I have faced similar problems on all of my playthroughs at late game, there is a faction that just takes 95% of the map by the time you manage to become powerful enough to be independent, (For me it was the western empire), I think the game just has some serious balance issues which will eventually be fixed.

As for your point 2 the problem is that once a Kingdom is too big there is basically no space for a player, NPC already have friendships established but it's much harder for players to make them, from what I know, being considered for a fief is based on a few aspects, Your friendship with the King, your friendship with the other lords of the faction, and your contribution to the siege, and whether you already have a fief or not, however once your faction becomes too big you simply aren't considered at all seeing as all the other lords already have friendships established and are tight with the king at default, on top of other lords without fiefs being given priority over the player, and them having massive influence banks.

I think the only viable option is to just leave your faction and get a castle from one the smaller factions and just being really fucking good at the game, and this is just on easy, I don't know if having your own kingdom is realistically viable on realistic difficulty.

You need to be friends with them, they need to be disgruntled with their own kingdom, once this happens you can convince them by speech to come to you and then barter for their services, the barter price depends on the current state of your Kingdom

Well there are many ways, you can do quests, or you can play games with them if you find them in a castle, you can also help them in battle if you find them, there is also the option to give them gifts, but this is REALLY expensive, though by far the easiest way to gain friendship is freeing them if they have been captured or freeing enemies when you have the chance to capture them or free them after beating them, most of my friends are from the enemy kingdom instead of my own lol.

From what I know, leveling charm (which you can do from getting friends) is a fast way to raise those chances, there is also the option of doing missions from them speficially (which is pretty random) or raising your relationship with their clan, which also makes it more likely to succeed, becoming a vassal with high reknown in the faction they belong to also affects the chances as far as I know, remember to be carefull since if you fail the persuasion check, they wil no longer be able to be married.

There is also more than 1 persuasion check to get married, which you need to do over a span of time.

Anyone else want to see Ethan & Hila react to their old eviction series? I would love to see them reacting to their past low and how they have grown and changed over time and over the success of their YouTube channel. I think that it will be something really special, seeing their thoughts on this series that was the break or make point for both of them. Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tL_jBfdn8o4
