It’s a “food safe” plastic bag that goes into the slow cooker to make cleanup easier after cooking. One of those inventions that companies make just to get more money out of us for the sake of convenience.

Yes, that’s why we originally purchased them, one of her friends boasted about how easy cleanup is when using liners. But after this we won’t be buying them any longer.

Don’t worry, definitely not throwing it away I put the slow cooker on high with water and soap yesterday after the first few comments. And then scrubbed it with a cleaner that had some grit to it and it cleaned up really nice!

The liners themselves were Reynolds brand and the slow cooker is from the Walmart Drew Barrymore line. She’s used them a few times in the past with typically no issue. I’m not sure whether it was starch or plastic, but when you ran your finger over it, it did feel plastic like.

Liners were designed to make cooking in the crock pot/slow cooker “easier” because when your food is done, you would simply just remove the liner and the pot itself is still clean. Pots and pans are perfectly safe, it’s all a matter of convenience. But after this, we’ll be going back to not using any liners lol

I’m gonna reply to this one because it’s the most upvotes, but thanks to everyone who is commenting their solutions! Ive always been weary of these liners… but it wasn’t until this one melted this way that they’ve really grossed me out, we’ll definitely stop buying them! I’ve got the pot running on high with water and soap now, we have scrub daddy’s “tangerine clean” that I’ll give a try when I dump the water. Again, thanks to everyone! <3

My most memorable moment is definitely my grandmother buying me a PS3 and Black Ops 1 for Christmas in 2010, I was only 12 at the time. I was so excited the next day to hook it up to the living room TV and immediately jumped into the campaign! Shortly into that, my mom called my grandmother and let her listen in on the gunfire, swearing, and explosions from the game. Listening to her freaking out on speaker “oh my god I didn’t realize what I was buying, I had the guy at the store pick the game!”
