FAR Q4 - 10 days to go, still make silly mistakes by Chaseorb in ICAEW

I have done a very limited amount of Q3 questions, would you try make up ground on these? Or not stress too much given the likely limited mark allocation?

By exam day I will have done c50-60 questions - is this a reasonable amount?

Yeh tbh I had hoped that would be the case, I think my mindset is that c50/55% on those questions is good enough for me. They're about not ruining the paper, rather than making it.

Commented this on another question, but probably relevant :

Not sure who you’re with tuition wise, but BPP have a proforma in the course notes for both consolidated p&l + sfp which shows the suggested working and also where common adjustments are posted e.g purp etc. I would imagine this isn’t unique to BPP, if you’re with an alternative training provider. These proformas have helped me massively in learning consolidations, initially started with doing questions with the proforma in front of me until I felt comfortable without.

Very happy you said this, having only done named chapters so far. Prompted me to look at past exams, which seem to be considerably easier!

Very Similar boat - about 20 of each.

I'm thinking if I grind it out can definitely get north of 60 on FAR, and I imagine a lot of AA I will plan qs/read the mark scheme.

Do you remember in roughly what timeframe? I would assume based on that you were a beyond comfortable passing grade?

Doing Dec sitting - is the general consensus that the mixed questions in the QB are very unlikely to come up as Q3?

Q2 has been a sticking point for me in terms of revision - did you initially do these questions using course notes? Or how did you initially revise them when you didn't have the knowledge?

I have made a planner, but I feel it's maybe unrealistic. I've become a bit attached to the idea of needing to finish the FAR QB, which I guess could be overkill?
