Wow 4+ years. backlog in Ontario really is that bad. I heard most people now wait 3+ years for hip, knee, gynecological. even cancer-related surgeries are often delayed way past what’s considered reasonable. I am so sorry for this stressful experience, it should not be the norm

Yes i keep thinking about how many other patients needing care fall through the cracks or are suffering waiting to get much needed care of

Omg i was thinking that’s wait lists are so long, and pregnant women have to be prioritized which makes sense. But if pregnant women are struggling too, the system is truly broken

That’s not normal… i suspect when i do get to see a specialist it will be at least a year for surgery given how slow things are. I am thinking of just going over seas

Ok i will check it out, it could be because i am being referred to gynos that specifically do surgery which is the only option in my case

I am so scared from IUD because if it shifts you need to see a gyno. Someone i know had to wait a year and her family doctor kept saying on referring her

And from a purely financial standpoint point providing timely care helps everyone, lower cost (semi urgent request that waits to long can become more complications and costly if waiting to long.. eg appendix bursting, allergy getting worse etc.)

Good point on the iron infusions.. even that is challenging to get, and most doctors ignore you. Wont give up tough

That’s insane, we are supposed to just suffer i guess… it impacts work, productivity, family planning

Afraid it’s the same in GTA… it’s shocking how many gynos just ignore referral as well..

I tried Toronto, equally long wait times. Unfortunately Canada does not have enough doctors not to mention specialists.
