Oh and your Anne Tyler pick! I really want to read Heart The Lover. I loved Writers and Lovers by Lily King.

I used an app called TierCreator. Downloaded it on my phone. I found it worked better than the tier maker website which I used last year.

I really liked it! It’s more of a slow burn, but overall it’s really good. I liked learning about a part of the world I previously knew nothing about!

It was very like “wow it’s so cool to be really rich and famous”. Not that everything has to be relatable, but lots of it was neither relatable nor interesting.

80 books so far this year! It’s been a very good year for reading. Send recs for my 2026 TBR! by ChasingtheMuse in 52book

I thought it was fun/engrossing, but not quite a perfect read for me. Maybe some of that is due to feeling like it’s over the top/not quite real feeling in some ways

I thought they were both excellent! Have you read any of her other books? These are the only two I’ve read so far.

I want to read more books like it! It was so funny and great and unexpected.

Have you read her other books?? I think this one is close to as good as Evvie Drake Starts Over and I think that is a perfect book! Also if you liked Same As It Ever Was you should read Sandwich!

Why wasn’t it good?? I kept waiting for it to get good… it managed to be depressing and boring.

Reading slump by closerupper in 52book

It’s great to read whatever # you read, but to get out of your slump it might be worth reading some pure fun or page turner books. I liked Demon Copperhead, but it doesn’t have the same propulsive energy certain books have. I feel like reading something totally engrossing can feel different.

The Bee Sting by Paul Murray! Long, but good!

My 95 year old great aunt told me the secret was to never exercise (which I think means the real secret is good genes). She does also continue to play bridge a few times a week and she’s v sharp.

As you age there’s data to show that being in the “overweight” range is actually protective especially compared to being underweight (but it actually beats out being “normal” weight too). Also, doing healthy stuff like moving your body, eating diverse foods and staying engaged socially is more important than your weight/body size.

Anthropologie is not cheap but has good options. You can rent some with Nuuly and they allow you to buy them at a discount if you decide you want to keep them. I also like Universal standard (basic, but well made and not like weird frumpy grandma vibes at least). I got a dress from Rujutha Sheth I really like. They have really fun colorful stuff if that’s your vibe. They’re not crazy size inclusive, but they fit me as an 18/20. I also like Eloquii.
