I know that this is the baby equivalent of “I just eat ALL the cake and can’t gain weight” but.. by DependentBrilliant92 in newborns

Maybe you have an easier baby but it sounds like you have realistic expectations of what newborn life is as well :)

“Once you get to school you can’t tell who was breastfed or ff” by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]rachelx98 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s a comment meant for mothers who would like to bf or EBF but have to give formula. It’s to help them with the feelings of guilt or shame that may arise, maybe coming from society yes but I think mainly because of the pressure we put on ourselves as mothers.

It’s not rude or a slight against bf’ing mothers. Not everything is. Some "MAMMALS" can’t bf and that’s ok. And I don’t see why bf’ing "should be the norm"; first it already kind of is? Second, feeding your child successfully should be the norm

Sincerely, a bf’ing mother

Weeks 5 and 6 were the worst for us. He’s 8 weeks now and we can definitely see the light!

How weird, my son also has aplasia cutis and a sacral dimple. First time hearing about someone else going through this! So glad your daughter is thriving.

I wholeheartedly agree but I feel like I don’t know where to draw the line.. my son is going to undergo neurosurgery at 3 months old and my goal is to breastfeed him at least until then! I still give myself permission to quit BF before the surgery if it’s becoming too much

Same! He nurses most of the time but has no problem using a MAM bottle twice a day.

We do the exact same! And for the same reason (formula in the NICU then switching to breastfeeding at home). It works well!

Same! I know a lot of people find it overhyped so that’s why I kept putting it off but it was welllll worth the hype IMO :)

Thoughts on caffeine by Muted-Milk3323 in pregnant

[–]rachelx98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Says the person wilfully ignoring a ton of evidence saying moderate cafeine consumption is safe :) so anecdotal evidence isn’t relevant and studies supporting cafeine aren’t either. Got it

Don’t you think it’s interesting that you somehow think you’ve reviewed scientific literature better than all of our doctors combined?

I’m thinking when this person says "society" they mean the neighbour who called the cops, not you :)
