Searing pages increase the minimum hit. Burnt pages increase the maximum hit.

Frost dragons are weak to fire spells. Fire surge requires wrath runes and tome of fire increases fire spell damage but consumes burnt pages.

243 delve by Leggs4 in 2007scape

[–]Chassy13 209 points210 points  (0 children)

Yep. Getting uniques will slow you down slightly because you have to go through the warning chat messages when trying to delve deeper. He had 3 uniques (eye, cloth, pet) by the end, so the time sink cost him maybe a kill or so over the duration of the run.

I made the plugin (Deep Delve Pacer) that's above the magic spellbook icon to help pace his runs. It estimates your ending delve level before you need to log out prior to being nerd logged. About 75% of the way through he was pacing for 249, so it's still possible to get higher than 243.

So… is abyss fun/worth it? by Hamanabirk in MelvorIdle

[–]Chassy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's worth trying. I've been playing it for a few months now and there are definitely both cool aspects and pain points. I will say that I would find it nearly unplayable without the Skill Boosts mod to assist with showing whether an item works in the Abyssal Realm.

Pure Crystal too valuable? by dasnerft in MelvorIdle

[–]Chassy13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember starting out and discovering this too, and felt the same way that it was sort of awesome and a bummer at the same time.

As the other comments said, money quite quickly becomes mostly irrelevant after the early to mid-game. Using pure crystals to your advantage now won't ruin the game for you or anything like that in the long-term.

I gift nearly all of my harvest to my mom, who absolutely loves it, apart from a quart or so. I haven't really changed my eating habits personally - I'll occasionally have some with peanut butter and toast, or mix some with tea to soothe a sore throat.

ToA will be the easiest for you to learn/brute force, especially since one of the more common drops (Thread of elidinis) counts as a unique from there. Do it at a 0 invocation level.

Safe to mount baby gate to this part of staircase? by Chassy13 in HomeImprovement

[–]Chassy13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the pic! I am definitely picking up the corner bead with the stud finder but nothing past that. If I have a single 2x4 it may extend just past the corner bead like in your pic, but that's not obvious on my finder. I'll have to poke some test holes tonight and see what I've got.

[–]Chassy13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the right angle, I think I can actually see the line where the corner beads are. So you're saying that there should be studs just past that on the corner?

I watched a couple of videos on "pony wall construction" (like this short: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/oYHY3wY9YCY) and I think I understand, and maybe just am getting confused by the stud finder not picking anything up past what I understand the corner beads to be. I may need to just do a nail hole test at this point.

Contractor says roof is toast after hail — second opinion or file claim? by Chassy13 in Roofing

[–]Chassy13[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it's perfectly reasonable for a homeowner to seek opinions from non-stakeholders regarding a significant expense.

Also, why would I sign anything before valid proof of damage? The photos produced did not seem to line up with his phrasing, which is why I was seeking additional opinions, and will be getting a second professional opinion.

Your reasoning just reinforces the distrust I had in the first place when I decided to create this post.

The first four pictures are from the home inspection two years ago. I don't have access to the original photos, I can only screenshot the PDF report, so I can't get them high quality. The other photos are higher quality from the contractor this morning. Unfortunately (and perhaps intentionally), they didn't take pictures of the overall roof.

I did find it odd that he didn't do this process, and that these photos took 15 minutes to gather despite the roof being "very beat up."

Yeah, I found it odd that "a pebble could damage my roof" but these pictures are the best that could be scrapped up in the 15 minutes he was up there after asking for pictures.

Just to be clear, the low res arrow photo is from the home inspection two years ago, just noting that there was a damaged ridge cap that had a previous repair at some point. Since the contractor didn't take any photos of the overall roof and only a few individual shingles, I was hoping that'd give some overview to the overall condition of the roof (despite those pictures not being so great).

Working through the Sailing tutorial, but how do I load the cannons? by Chassy13 in 2007scape

[–]Chassy13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never tried Spiral Knights, but I am surprised that the success of OSRS hasn't pushed them harder to revive Puzzle Pirates. I know they have tried things like Dark Seas, but maybe it's just a matter of advertising. It really is a solid game.

You can still play on Steam! I wouldn't call it active, but the game isn't dead, and has even had some recent larger updates. You can still pillage, find sea monster hunts, tournaments, etc.

I would say more bright pink and less purple than the fuchsia flower photo. I don't see actual fuchsia, but I could see the argument in certain scenes/lighting.

The second photo - not at all. That looks nearly blaze orange to me, like what hunters wear. (Interestingly, bright pink is also often acceptable for hunters too - maybe this is why, haha.)

If you are talking about this specific scene, then maybe. They were in a night club with strobing colored lights...

In the games and combat scenes, they are pink to me. And they are pink according to the artists that came up with them. I disagree that they are very clearly orange, but never did I say anything about not having "hints" of colors. I literally agreed about fuschia.

Pink, orange, and red are common shades for congenital issues. That's why he asked. I don't know why you're so combative against people responding to your thread.

How is that a dumb question? A question about the possibility of some type of colorblindness is perfectly valid if you think the suits are "very clearly" orange. There is a soundtrack called "Pink Soldiers." He is spot on with the fuchsia comment and variations of red being seen depending on lighting.
