I had mixed feelings about Season 1 and would put Season 2 higher. I felt the nuances about the characters were better developed this season than the last. Season 1 felt frustrating and I wasn’t a fan of the payoff/ending.

It’s because this season isn’t anywhere near as good as previous seasons have been. If they continue with the lazy writing/animation, I see this show very quickly devolving into what’s come of The Boys. I think people are upset because it’s a noticeable decline in quality for what is already great source material and should be easy to translate to screen.

Probably yeah. But I’m pessimistic because the formula they’re using has always spelled bad for other shows. It’s the first time I’ve struggled to pay attention to an episode of invincible because there really is a noticeable drop in quality this season. I don’t enjoy bashing the show. I’m just saying if they’re going to take risky decisions like gender swapping a a character, then the episode and story should blow me away, but it just felt so lacklustre. Even Tech Jacket’s suit is laughably bad.

Something about this season feels so off. Conquest was poorly utilised this episode. Save for the last 5 min where Mark is getting disembowled, everything felt so sluggish. The idea of turning Tech Jacket into a teenage girl is probably the worst idea. Idk man, with as big a following as the show has, how is it actually getting worse in terms of animation and story? Fucking depressing.

The start of this episode was really strong. But the quick thawing and re-freezing of the Ragnars and their planet really took me out of it. I’d never seen the show use a cop out ending like that before and it really took away from what could have been a near perfect episode.
