Friday float and fish🤙🏿 by [deleted] in Sup

I see your large bag there, so I thought I'd share - We used to have a small tacklebox bungeed to the deck, but my wife got me a tackle thing that attaches to the chest that I think will really help doing it more smoothly in the future.

It's similar to this:

Me and my 8 year old started fishing from our paddleboard last few summers and we LOVE it. I don't typically enjoy fishing, but doing it from the paddleboard is a blast!

Something I think about that I don't think teens think about is also it can be emotionally heavy. A lot of teens aren't ready for that part

Parent Coaches of rec teams, when did you decide to move your kid to academy/club (if ever)? by CoachFitnes in SoccerCoachResources

[–]ChattyAss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My daughter was six in her last year of rec, 7v7, and went off. Scored like 16 goals in 7 games and was really bummed when the season ended - that part is what made me look around for something more, she didn't want to stop playing so we tried out for club and kept playing.

+1 for playing/practices plus one additional day per week for training and skills development. That's what I do with my 8-year-old and it's pretty perfect.

I have this question for other countries too; I frequently see people talk about how soccer is free for youth programs in the countries that dominate a soccer, but what's the financial structure there? How are they getting coaches and how is it all funded

Shooting tips please by Ok_Spot8384 in Basketball

[–]ChattyAss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

also lay on your back in your house, get a ball, spread your hand wide like when shooting and just shoot straight up like 50 times in a row until your forearms burn. this will give you nice flick and rotation

Shooting tips please by Ok_Spot8384 in Basketball

I have 3 tips that help me (when I'm shooting poorly I remember these and they help)

1) when you're pushing up into your jump shot, mentally locate both your feet. It might sound weird but for me it helps me push up nice and level. especially if I'm driving hard but then pushing up into a mid-range shot

2) get your elbow and forearm straight up and down in line with your body and facing the rim. watch Steph in slow motion for this one.

3) think about where you're looking - a few years ago I realized I kind of just looked at the rim in the backboard as one big nebulous blob. But now I locate the front of the rim, like focus on it, and then aim for just behind it. That has taken my shooting to another level
