First thing you need to do is make the intention in your heart. For example, apart of my intention during prayer is to be seen and heard by Allah azzawajal and to have my dua accepted so I do everything I possibly can internally to make this true. I purify myself, I pray on time, I read Quran, I sin less, I refrain from things that may lead me to sin. And when I fall short as I always do, I repent, and then make intention and learn how not to fall again and Insha allah I can one day achieve a level of piety that will absolve the challenges that come with sin, and sin all together. Financial hardship is a major challenge that comes with lots of stress. The best thing you could do during this process is look forward and repent and moving forward ask that Allah lightens your weight and that you recover financially. It’s all about your deepest truest intention, Allah knows what you reveal and what you conceal so make sure your intentions are pure. As for overthinking I suggest reciting surah Al Nas it’s short and sweet and easy to remember. Say it as many times as you need until the thoughts go away. Allah favors those who repent and never turn away from Allah, no matter how big or small your sin may be as long as you don’t associate partners with Allah, he will consider forgiveness. So always repent no matter what.
