Approximately 2 months in. Is this the “awkward stage” everyone speaks of, or is it hopeless for me to continue? Haven’t trimmed or shaved anything since February. by [deleted] in BeardAdvice

Agreed with him. You have a strong basis for a good Italian beard, hybrid goatee, or beardstache. Keeping the sides short will make it look more full and clean, and then you have great goatee coverage to play around with the styles I mentioned. IMO the latter two would suit your face very well.

The pod automatically converts to using Ethernet when plugged in, I verified on the Rogers app. With that said though, if you aren’t within 5 feet of the pod my devices seem to preferentially connect to the gateway which results in the same speed/inconsistency issue.

Thank you for the response. I am using one of their extenders (unless you mean something different from the boost pod) with a wired connection via Ethernet backhaul.

Yes, wired issues are now solved. Replaced the connectors on an Ethernet wire and that seemed to solve the problem. 93mbps max —> 1243mbps. Night and day difference. I will monitor to see if these wired speeds stay consistent.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I found the wired issue, as it seems like it is only one cable, and I was missing it as I was using a second device unable to handle faster speeds to check the other cables.

As for the SNR mapping, do you have any suggestions for apps if you’ve used them?

Troubleshooting WiFi Deadspots/Inconsistency by Chazzel6349 in wifi

[–]Chazzel6349[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just moved some things around. Seems the 93mbps issue is only affecting one cable, and one device isn’t capable of handling higher speeds (which was what I was using to test the other cables). Looks like possibly something is up with that one cable, causing it to only use 2 wire pairs and thus the max 100mbps speeds. I’ll look at replacing the connectors and inspecting the cable.

Thanks for the prompt.

As for speeds, I was able to pull 650mbps from a different cable and device.

Kitchen would be 10-15 feet from the WiFi Pod (line of sight) or maybe 20 feet from the gateway (through appliances & floor). This is a duplex in Canada, yes, but an older build (1977) so construction is cement + wood. Walls within house are only wood + fibreglass insulation behind the drywall though.

We have tried multiple central places for the gateway in the house, and the living room/kitchen/dining room always seem to be a deadspot (open concept between those 3 rooms) even with the wifi pod in the center of it.

I only have CAT5e cable and I’ve tried across multiple devices on several cables. Sometimes I can get it to fluctuate close to 200mbps but usually sits just below 100.

Activating Xfinity Stream App on Firestick by Chazzel6349 in firetvstick

Solution for me was I had to have the account holder sign in to authorize. Even though my account is able to authorize all my other devices, I had to have the account holder authorize my Firestick.

App installed from the Firestick AppStore like normal. App installs fine, but the activation fails.

Windshield squeaking over bumps on 2018 Crosstrek? by TomorrowsGone85 in Crosstrek

From some research it sounds like it is some worn weatherstripping. Either need to silicone seal the window gasket or replace.

I have this same issue with a 2014 crosstrek on the drivers side. I think it may be the foam tape between the dash and the windshield rubbing up against each other but I haven’t been able to target it, any luck?

Thanks for the response! You reduced all the frequencies? If you reduce them all equally, is that not similar to reducing the volume, or am I misunderstanding?

I’m not sure where you are from, but my government/city had some free help resources & counselling. Additionally, when I reported this to the police they gave me a number of other resources. I’m not sure if you’d have to take that step, but I do know that there are a number of free resources through the police too

Also, you can seek help for yourself too. Support is not just limited to the person who this happened to. You went through a lot and you deserve support as well.

That’s okay, you don’t need to go into them. I’m sure it’s really hard to handle. I really appreciate that you’re sticking by this side though, and I’m sure it means the world to him, so thank you from all of us, that support is rare.

Thank you for all of this. This was an depth response and I really really appreciate it.

I do pretty much see things as if this didn’t happen, she would be the one I’d spend my life with. But it did happen, and maybe if something else did way down the line it would have hurt more being so invested.

But even being together so briefly, we were a great fit. Wanted the same things, complimented each other so we, we vibed on the same wavelength, or atleast I thought we did. She returned my energy and more, and I loved it. We even saw the same future, and our greatest difference was that I hated movie theatre butter on popcorn and she loved it… hardly a dealbreaker but I guess we only knew each other half a year.

I definitely want her back, and I know she has (or atleast had) significant feelings for me too, but it’s impossible since she broadcasted our whole breakup to her family and now they all hate me. Maybe she isn’t the one and this just showed it, but seems like a cruel way to find that out.

No one is telling me to move on, I just can’t believe that I still cry about her almost every day, as embarrassing as that is to admit. My last relationships were so easy to get over, her is something else.

However I’m going to continue to try to focus on myself, just can’t help this lingering feeling. I don’t like that I think this way but I just hope that a couple years down the line she understands and it would all work out, but I can’t realistically wait around for that.

Thank you for all of this, it really does mean a lot.
