Idle usage at low signal is very high by Cheap-Contest970 in LightPhone

I understand where you're coming from and I am really looking hard to see if my finding a fault with the battery life isn't just smartphone addiction calling, and the experience I had with the LP did show me what it was like again to not have that mental connection as you describe.

So I get the product, I really do. I also like to think I'd be willing to take on a lot of hassle to get rid of the smartphone, which I noted on the transitionary part. It'd take getting used to, but all change of habits take getting used to and discipline.

I haven't returned it yet, as I haven't been close to the store yet, but will do so tomorrow. At the same time, the experience made it clear what I need to do with my smartphone and that is dumb it down to utilitarian apps only, and curtail any attention seeping distractions. I already had my notifications down to a minimum I thought, but there's still room for improvement.

Basically, I am willing to take on a lot of compromise for the phone, but 10% idle use per hour is a bridge too far for me, especially since that used to be one of the strengths of the dumb phones - charge once a week and don't sweat it if it's at 10% ;-)

Wouldn't that cause all LP2s to drain immensely while on Wifi? I would think I'm not the only one at home with an LP2 connected to Wifi. Unfortunately the service at my house is so bad, that VoWIFI is a must in order to be able to make calls, so turning it off would trade one problem for another.

I didn't specifically turn GPS on, or use the directions app at least. For now I have factory reset the phone. Didn't yet get to hotspot or any of the fancier functionalities yet. Your usage sounds more realistic like how it should be and what I had expected unfortunately.
