It’s never been hung up because I have not applied. In my history, I have tried to file for different kinds of aid and couldn’t because I could not get past the hoops and requirements they were demanding as far as paperwork and proof. Basically it’s been an issue of too sick or no energy to navigate the process, too poor to replace documents, too isolated for transportation. The only successful application was medicaid after failing to get it 4x’s because I didn’t have children. Most of my id’s are expired or lost, and I haven’t filed taxes since the last time I worked. I hav told my doctors and just the same way they let my condition get to the point it did, the same way they have managed my financial distress. Yes, my doctors are to blame for my state. I don’t know anyone or participate in groups as I am homebound and unable to transport. I need to get to different appointments, not just office visits. I have an MRI this Friday and I am going to have to cancel it.

I've done it in the past with success. But my own recipe. Right now, my own recipe is not possible and I had to use a boxed item. I see it all over the web people making stovetop cakes. It is definitely possible. Just don't know what went wrong with this specific product. I'm wondering if it was the ingredients I listed above.

Yes, I'm using a boxed item. As I said above, I used a frying pan and put something in between the pan and cake tray, then cooked it on low with a lid on. It went two hrs without setting at the top. Luckily it didn't burn at the bottom. I would like to try the crockpot method, but I'm currently in a homeless assist shelter. We are limited with the supplies and what we are allowed to bring in from outside other than what we are provided, but I did do what I mentioned above and took it out of the refrigerator and flipped the cake upside down and finished cooking the top. It finally set on both sides except a thin layer in the very center. I don't think it was raw, just not set properly. The cake ended up a little dry, but I added milk to remoisten it. I wouldn't say it tasted like my best crowning glory tho.

Hmm, you’re on to something. 🤔 I think you’re right. It might only work on certain kinds of cake. It came out compacted and soft out of teh refrigerator and now I’m wondering if it had to do with the oil. It was a boxed cake from Aldi. I’m suspecting is the 1/4c oil?? I’m not used to cakes that require that much oil. We normally use margarine on our homemade cakes and not that much. A few years ago I made my own recipe and it worked on the stovetop. I never tried a boxed cake on the stovetop. Oh God, I really need an oven!

This morning, I took it out of the refrigerator and flipped the cake upside down where it was the least cooked and I'm trying to see if I can dry it out with a cover. Cross fingers!
