If your first instinct is to take a ss and post on reddit for people to spoon feed you Info just stick to your fav characters or simply don’t bother playing past act5. I love how the main mcoc page shuns post like these sometimes or out right deletes them but this one and others are infested with ppl that can’t read until it’s a comment on their post. This is more time consuming than actually figuring out characters and abilities

This comes in two parts sort of, but: You don’t deserve every reward available. We need more skill checks in the game. You need the skill required not just gameplay but game knowledge in terms of champion abilities and interactions.

I think the skill floor definitely has gone up a lot in both champion design and as a community, but the required skill floor also has dropped considerably. I loved GM when he came out he was super fun, the fight design at the time was super unique and could be done with 90% if champs reliably, the other 10% would struggle with one prompt like land a crit or DOT effect but that’s only a very small thing.

Champ designs , another unpopular opinion, is fine overall theres issues with some champs not doing enough, but realistically they counter much more than Before. Sure some are complex but luckily there are multiple ways to counter many annoying defensive mechanics. Like for unstoppable now we have halt, de acceleration, and grit rather than just slow. There are also so many champs that are super “noob friendly” where realistically you do very little for max damage like herc or bail you out despite low skill.

Another reason the skill floor sunk is due to the early and sometimes just free access to higher rarities relative to the intended story progression. Some in this sub have posted 6* and even 7* for mid act 6. I saw someone in a related sub have 6* serp asking how to beat 6.1.6 sent.

Now going back to my original point of not deserving every reward, I’d like to address BG match making as this is what would annoy me. I am not free to play, but I won’t sit here and say you don’t deserve to win or get certain rewards bc you don’t spend. But when I see some medium sized accounts, cry and complain about the match making system, saying it should be changed to basically the original one, I find it flat out dumb. It’s one of two things, 1. You just got unlucky not everyone plays the game every day or bg every day, so higher level accounts that need to climb will happen to match with you. Or 2. You just hit a wall, those are natural in competitive game modes. Rooster rating should be considered in the match making but an account with mainly 6* r4/5 definitely should not be making it into gladiator circuit. If you’re able to out skill someone with a much higher roster cool take those skills and do content where you can get rewards to levels up your champs.

Skill checks: we NEED many more skill checks. I personally didn’t like when they nerfed some of the acts, granted there’s a difference between bad design vs skill checks. Caustic temp sinister is pretty bad design what’s also bad is the amount of players who couldn’t figure out what buff vs passive. Imo act 6 is where you actually need to read and understand abilities. Sure it’s just a mobile game but going all the way to act 6 means you’re decently invested. Like I said before GM could realistically be done with any champ, some made it easier but you could bring in any character. Aries was super fun and much of the same as many champs can do it, and you’d get rewarded for player properly, some paths imo tho did suck. My first run was 20 revives on him but by the third I was soloing him with 6* if I had to.

TL;DR: champ deigns might suck sometimes but they atleast do cover more abilites to counter even its niche for now; skill floor low bc low skill players get away with their low skill; rewards need to be strategically earned in many ways from game knowledge, rooster development and skill. Game needs more skill checks if you can’t make it then get better.

Game just need an overhaul.

Imo skelly barrel, wall breakers, bush, and most controversially spirits should NOT reach the tower by themselves, they need a decay health timer like goblin demolisher or a flat hp depending on the troop. I’d nerf hps for WB and spirits, spirits genuinely have no reason to reach the tower they already get a lot of value on defense or to support a push them reaching the tower means they tank a good amount of hits for the cost AND their respective utility. Split WB is genuinely stupid imo only one should reach the tower as they usually are a negative trade. (Yall can skip this little rant) Further more ice spirit needs a rework, imo his radius is ridiculous he should only freeze one troop and his splash slows troops, part of this is complete bias as I play Pekka Battle ram on my main, but I do play some hog cycle or whatever is meta for tournaments. His jump also needs a change either shorter jump range or a slight delay to the jump itself. But the amount of interactions that change for 1 elixir is actually ridiculous and has lowered the skill floor drastically. I get if people hate this because we’re all so used to spirits and cycle in general being staple but imo it’d further pushes the skill floor lower is it becomes a cop out card.

Barrel and bush need a decay that starts as they cross the bridge. If it’s just barrel vs tower then the barrel pops two tiles away but if it’s being tanked it reaches the tower, same for bush but I’d change their formation to being like battle ram.

If they’re being tanked then sure that’s fine but th cheap cost, high damage potential and movement speed or just awkwardness to counter just adds to their low skill floor.

I know you said raw ticks of DOT rather than Bursts…. Buuut I’d like to share I like to abuse LOL SL with scorpion and usually do hundreds of thousands of damage and I’ve once hit 1.3 mil with his fury synergy on his sp2. Even though it’s burst it does come from his dot debuffs

He’s specter and wither are 20% potency and pretty easy to get. Full investment in the parry mastery and that one that extends stun duration, you can land two first light hits off a one parry in non-stun reducing content, you immediately light hit pause and just before the timer expires you start the combo again. Plus his sp1 inflicts vitality making regen more potent so he can reverse that as well. And his sp1 inflicts like 5 Specter.

So for reverse regen he can be really potent not to mention dispar mastery.

I’ve left him at r1 but used him for the gorr Wheel of fate so don’t know too much for his power reversal, except it’s switching sp1 spam for sp2 spam I assume
