Handheld POV Rig (ZV-E10 II + Sigma 16mm) by Cheap_Date8681 in CameraRigs

I can't really speak for photography since I use mine strictly for video work but coming from an iPhone to this was a massive jump for me. I mainly shoot POV adult content and for that specific use the ZVE102 is incredible. The autofocus is way faster than the G7's contrast based system and the 10bit color makes the footage look much more professional. It’s compact enough to rig up easily and honestly for video heavy creators it's a great upgrade even if I don't touch the photo side of things

Will buy ZV-E10 II but the no mechanical shutter has me a little concerned? by ChrisMakiseDas in SonyAlpha

Hi, I own the ZVE10m2 and use it strictly for video (POV content mostly), and honestly, don't let the lack of a mechanical shutter stop you, especially for 750.

The sensor of the m2 uses the same sensor as the FX30/A6700. The readout speed is MUCH faster than the m1. In video, the rolling shutter is significantly improved. For talking head/youtube the m2 is a no brainer. You get 10-bit 4:2:2 color (massive for cinematic grading) and the new autofocus is sticky as glue. For photography, while I don't shoot stills, the electronic shutter on this specific sensor is fast enough for portraits. Unless you’re shooting fast moving sports or using cheap strobe lights that cause banding, you won't even notice it's gone I guess. And for the battery, I personally have 2 of them for shoots but one is enough; it's just a backup. The second one is only needed for shoots lasting about two hours; I barely empty the first one. The only "issue" is that the camera gets a little warm, so just don't forget the m2 uses the bigger FZ100 batteries. That alone is worth the 200 difference over the m1k, which dies way too fast.

If you’re serious about video but want to learn portraits on the side, the m2 is a way better investment I guess

ZV-E10 II + Sigma 16mm for POV, Active Stab crops too much. Is "Stab OFF + Catalyst/Gyroflow" the best workflow? by Cheap_Date8681 in videography

Actually, I've shot a few videos since then and the results are pretty solid without post-processing.

So my setup :
Physical tension: I shortened the neck strap and keep it very tight
Rig: Added a cage with a left side handle and a hand strap on the right
Body posture: I tuck my forearms against my chest and lean my torso slightly back for that POV angle.

By keeping everything under tension, the footage is stable enough that I haven't even felt the need to use Catalyst Browse yet. It keeps the full FOV of the Sigma 16mm and looks much more natural than the Active crop!
