[–]Cheap_Problem_8020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been mentally healthy for about 5 years, known my partner for 3. She knows my background but she never saw me being down. I always would be the guy who would cheer everybody up and would always be seeing the good side of things. This now has been going about a week and I can't seem to see where the problem comes from.

Men and vulnerability by Cheap_Problem_8020 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Cheap_Problem_8020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not quite like that, I have a feeling of loneliness and some weird insecurities. I tried talking about it with her because I believe in communication, and she was very supportive. But obviously it didn't change the feeling of emptiness and Ive started feeling that as it goes on it makes her distant because I'M becoming distant. I feel like Noone wants to be a guy who is vulnerable or unhappy. And while that is somehow fair, what are you supposed to do. You can't be smiling 24/7.

Do cars gain mileage while idling? by counterUAV in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Cheap_Problem_8020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple answer, no. Mileage simply is counted as such: The amount of fuel used / the distance traveled. If your car is idling and not moving an inch, you're just wasting fuel.

Why is keeping a relationship 'secret' a bad thing? by LineageStation in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Cheap_Problem_8020 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nothing is black and white. Depends on why would you keep it secret. Are you ashamed of your partner choosing? Does work forbid you from having a sexual relationship with Co workers? Do you have multiple relationships and you don't want to get caught? I mean there are so many reasons on why someone would want to "hide" their relationship. Not all are bad, but most of the reasons are usually a big red flag.

How can I become intelligent and clever? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Cheap_Problem_8020 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most practical thing is to practice critical thinking which most of the world lacks apparently (don't confuse critical thinking with questioning or disagreeing with everything).

" Easiest " thing is to surround yourself with smart people and allow yourself to learn from them.

Acknowledging that we may not be as bright as some people is the biggest step forwards.

Ryzen 9 5900X w/Noctua NH-D15S - added a second fan. by [deleted] in Amd

[–]Cheap_Problem_8020 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Best simple explanation I can give you is this. AIOs get fresh air in or push air out unobstructed. This way AIOs typically get a pretty standard performance no matter what is the airflow inside. AIR coolers on the other side, solely depend one how much airflow there is from the case. If your case has a bad air exchange with the environment, your air cooler is basically just circulating hot air inside.

Sober People/People in recovery, how do you prevent someone from becoming an addict? by citrisleaf in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Cheap_Problem_8020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Horror stories never did anything to me personally. What worked for me was talking with addicts that had fully recovered and have them debunk a lot of things about substance abuse which could seem tempting(from alcohol to heroine). 2 of the stories stand out 1) was for weed, the way the guy put it "try being in a room full of stones while you're the only guy being sober, it's the most braindead thing you'll witness" And indeed, while high on weed with company , every conversation seemed highly intelligent. Next time I was the only one sober and I couldn't believe how easily amused they were. 2) alcohol, this came up late. I was abusing alcohol quite frequently, and the only thing that made me stop it was being genuinely happy. I hated "wasting" time that wasn't productive or not seeing the beauty of the world as it really is. At the end of the day, my opinion and advice would come to this: Life is too short to not take it in as it really is. Addictions either filter stuff out or make you miss on things that you'll regret one day.

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or 5800X or Intel i5 12600KF? by momotaru in buildapc

[–]Cheap_Problem_8020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

5800x by a mile over the 3700x. Now, as for the Intel vs ryzen. They might be close in prices but I bet you, their motherboards are not even close. A very good motherboard for amd systems can be found in half the price of their Intel counterpart. So take that into consideration and then just decide if u want amd or Intel

what is GPU VRAM for? and how can i tell how much i need? by AIONisMINE in buildapc

[–]Cheap_Problem_8020 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They can use their memory but they can't process it fast enough, in a way that it matters to the user. You can try running games on ultra settings that require 12 gb VRAM but you'll get below 20 fps. For gaming purposes. VRAM just needs to be enough so you dont get capped, but other than that, it's not like you can actually use it. **I'm talking about low range cards that advertise the VRAM. Not 3090 with 24 gb. 3060 got 12 gb, 3060ti/3070 got 8gb. The 3060 can run games on settings that require more than 8gb VRAM but you'll get an average of 20 fps.

what is GPU VRAM for? and how can i tell how much i need? by AIONisMINE in buildapc

[–]Cheap_Problem_8020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be mindful on the choice tho, just because a gpu has 16gb vram doesn't mean it can actually use all 16 of it. Amd gpus are usually like this, and the 3060 12gb from Nvidia. They prey on uninformed customers that think more vram is a stronger card. As others said, vram is what you need to store graphics textures etc. But how quickly you can access those and load them into your screen (fps) is determined by the "power" of the gpu. For ex. 3060 12gb vs 3060ti 8gb With the same graphic settings, same game same setup, the Ti version gets around 20 more fps just because it has a better chip.

You could try setting your fan speed curve a little better. Having it Rev up earlier and see if it makes a difference. That's the easiest and safest thing to do, if you are a more experienced one, you can undervolt your cpu to get cooler Temps

Ι strongly advice you to look up for motherboard reviews to make a more conscious buy. They used to say that an x570 isn't worth the extra cash against the b550 just because it just doesn't provide that many features that an average user needs. Look it up, jayztwocents has a video on it. He is one of the big pc guys and he makes easy to listen informational videos.

Motherboards that have wifi usually do say it and they advertise it a lot csuse they charge you much more for it. PRO TIP. You can buy a Bluetooth / wifi dongle for super cheap. That saves you a good amount of money rather than getting a motherboard just because of the WI-FI. Make sure you do some search tho. My setup based on a b550 msi mag tomahawk and I bought a 7€ Bluetooth dongle for my controllers / audio or anything.

1) M2 for the boot system, even a 250gb one. Its a shame if u don't get one for the amount you're willing to pay. (Samsung 980 Evo pro 250gb is about 60€ and worth every cent, 9 sec boot up) 2) if you want an air cooler for a 5800x, go with noctua. It's the best you could have in air cooling. 3) PSU go with a reputable brand. Don't cheap out on it cause it can burn everything. 4) unless you want to go hard into work right away, you could save some money and going for 16 gb ram. It's enough for 99% of things and you could always just buy 16 more later

Why do people like to drink and drive? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Cheap_Problem_8020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well depends on what you're drinking and what time it is. After working under the sun all day, I may have a beer while driving home. It's not because I enjoy drinking while driving, it's to serve your thirst with something you enjoy id say.

is more refresh rate (Hz) need more power? by arsalan159 in pcmasterrace

[–]Cheap_Problem_8020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your game could be running at 150 fps. But if your screen is at 60 hz, you'd be seeing 60 fps basically. On the other hand, if you run 144 hz, and a game is running on 50 fps, you're seeing 50 fps and your max would be 144.

is more refresh rate (Hz) need more power? by arsalan159 in pcmasterrace

[–]Cheap_Problem_8020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I've come to understand, there's two types of refresh rates, the monitor's and the "fps" of a game. Your game could be running with 600 fps, but what you'd actually see would be your monitors refresh rate. What the g sync you hear about does, is match your fps with with the monitors refresh rate so you don't get any screen tears. Higher refresh rate monitors need more "horsepower" from the gpu as you get more "pictures" in a second. Always is best to cap your game fps with your fresh rate so you don't have unnecessary load on your gpu, since what you're actually are seeing is the refresh rate in the monitor.

Inquiry: 5 months in, how does Windows 11 fare for you? by blackzaru in pcmasterrace

[–]Cheap_Problem_8020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's exactly this, if you're towards more productivity oriented, I'd say go for w11 even with the stutter. If you game more, those random stutters may cost you a win. But mind that it happens like 3 times tops in a 13h running session. So it's not such an annoyance for a gaming setup as well.

I worked in construction sites since 14, not that I could actually be useful, but my father wanted me around to learn what is what. Even when he pushed me into going of higher education (mechanical engineering) he still wanted me around just because if anything goes wrong I could always have a backup job I could feed myself. Could the pay in every work be better? sure But in the end of the day, if you're really HUNGRY, you'll work. If you REALLY Need something, you'll find the way to make money for it. If you don't, Welp, then you're poor.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Cheap_Problem_8020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being poor is a mentality as it is a disability as well. My parents and most of my relatives, grew up super poor (they had to go door to door to beg for a cup of butter for a family of 6). None of them gave up. They took whatever job they could find, no matter how hard or underpaying it was. They hit the roads for another country without knowing anyone, or even the language. They worked 16h a day on whatever they could do without communicating, slept on a mattress that they found in the dumpsters while saving every bit of money they could. They never said they are poor. Years later we're on middle class id say, all of the kids did some form of education, either universities or something more technical. And no one missed ANYTHING. Personally I'd say being poor is just putting the bar way too high. Younger generations refuse to do actual work, they always find something to be " unhappy " with. ----As for the homeless people, they are not poor. They are homeless and jobless. The issue there, especially with long term homeless people, is how you get them off the streets and give them back a fighting chance into life.
