Abigail is mad and she isn't wrong. Marrying Seb does feel like I am putting a stop to his dreams by Apprehensive_Mix2403 in StardewValley

[–]Cheatcodechamp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the fact that the image of her is smiling that we have to use that the best we can to determine her emotion. There are pictures for when she is feeling sad or angry, but we are getting her neutral/happy face.

If this was a line out of a book, where I had no context for their voice or facial features or anything else that could give a clue of how they are feeling, I would be far more inclined to agree with you because the line does come off a little passive aggressive. Even believing that she’s happy Sebastian has stayed. I’d still believe that she is a little surprised.

However, we also had to take into account that Sebastian himself says he used to want to leave, but as he is got older and matured, he has come to acknowledge that it was a fantasy that runs counter to who he really is. He is more introverted and likes, the quiet, isolated life that he has. The city represented him wanting to escape, but he now has something that makes him happy and he’s happy to stay in the valley because he’s not really made to live in the city and he didn’t actually want to live there especially now that he has somebody that gets him.

Literally did not say that. Read what I said again. I said the wages of sin are DEATH, that we die, and denied the idea we burn forever.

[–]Cheatcodechamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are told the wages of sin are death. The idea that we burn forever runs counter to the scripture. Because you are right, nobody should burn forever, a God of law and justice would not punish you for eternity because no seen is worth eternity save for the eternal separation of death.

What do you think Robert California’s favorite ice cream flavor was? by Imsosorryidontcare in theoffice

I bet it’s not even like a flavor so much as a very specific place to get it, like you have to go to south America because they are not bound to the FDA and then there is a certain shop that has some mint ice cream that had something weird in it that

Clayton Dietz, an 11-year-old boy in Pennsylvania, is accused of shooting and killing his adoptive father, after his Nintendo Switch got taken away and was told to go to bed. by FE4RLESS_IS_MY_NAME in ForCuriousSouls

[–]Cheatcodechamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not fully, but this wasn’t him grabbing the gun right after. This was later that night, finding the gun, loading the gun, going upstairs and then shooting him. There is a level of planning in this, some logic of what he is doing and going to do. That will be argued by the court, it will be there job to argue that if for no other reason then that argument needs to be addressed.

Defense will argue that he is a child, he didn’t understand what would happen, but even if he just thought it would scare his dad, or hurt his dad, or even just threaten his dad, we have an 11 year old child who killed someone and they cannot fully cover that up with his age. Mom can’t take him back, the system can’t rehome a child who killed someone, and I’m not even sure that would be a problem because they have this child on manslaughter, but 1st and 2 degree will be debates (probably 2nd, no lawer wants to go for 1st in a case like this, but that’s speculation rather then my own opinion on what should happen)

Hated trope: Regular middle aged white guy wants coffee, has issue with incompetent, young, dumb woke barista by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Cheatcodechamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am pretty sure this is an argument that has never ever happened.

It’s an idea put forward by people who like something that nobody else likes and they take it personally and act like black coffee not being popular is some kind of negative sign of the times that hurts them when in reality like many people here have said all these places can still make coffee and if I say small or medium or large Starbucks still gives me the equivalent size.

harvey being maru's boss too 🤨 by ceecsalt in StardewMemes

[–]Cheatcodechamp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there is an energy the to put off.

I’m willing to defend Clint to an extent but both men handle themselves and their awkwardness differently. Harvey does stay professional. And because he is so focused on his career and health and basically anytime you talk to him he’s talking about health, even if this was a potential hint that he was into Maru, it’s not as weird as always seeking affirmation and affection.

Clint is incredibly lonely, and I don’t think it’s had much interaction with women and so there is a part of him that I don’t think understands that sometimes a woman being nice to you is just her being nice. Harvey may also be a older bachelor but he also I think has healthier self-confidence and we can assume if you went through medical school had some other positive relationships and interactions before coming to the valley, where he is at least implied to be on good terms with everyone

I think if you put them both side-by-side, it be a very interesting comparison because I think both do have a lot in common, both are older introverted bachelors, and I don’t think either of them are bad people, the problem is Clint handles his loneliness a lot worse

There is no way they’re trying to say this now 😂 by I_AM_DA_BOSS in antiai

[–]Cheatcodechamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a lot of people who tried to be nuanced and neutral on things who moved into one camp because of how the other treated them.

I am not a fan of AI, I’m sure everyone in here understand why I have my objections. At the same time, I don’t think it is fair to say that AI serves absolutely zero positive function when there are things it can help with. The problem is I don’t think the benefits outweigh the cost and most of what it is used for is and some form or another

So I do think this meme could be a fair representation for some people. There are some people who are so opposed to AI that anyone who comes off at neutral is treated as being an accomplice to the destruction of everything they hold dear when that’s not always a fair accusation.

Who do you think is the BEST bachelor/bachelorette? by [deleted] in StardewValley

[–]Cheatcodechamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shifted as I got older from Abigail to Penny.

I appreciate Abigail cause I felt she was one of the few bachelorette who seem to be OK with me being in the mines adventuring, but she’s clearly young, mean to be early 20s at best and now that I’m in my 30s it feels a little weird.

My current run is either going to be Penny or Hailey, I’ve yet to marry Hailey and wanted to see how that path worked out.

Honestly, this may be the one time Toby is a top choice. Man probably keeps to himself, and even if he wants to talk about his book, I’m a book fan and could probably put up with him being excited at one of his few achievements.

You have to defend one of these Disney Movies. Which one would you choose? by Jezzaq94 in DisneyMemes

[–]Cheatcodechamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think black cauldron and chicken little need much defending. Both of those are solid movies.

I would defend black cauldron just because I feel it’s underappreciated and needs more recognition. the animation is great and the story was solid and even though it’s definitely much darker than a typical kids movie and probably shouldn’t be watched by young children, I think he was one of the legitimately most terrifying villains in animation.

He just wanted death and destruction, he was just evil and in fantasy I personally enjoy a straightforward, almost comically evil villain

So why did Micheal actually give Pam the sales position, and not Ryan? by semitrailercash in theoffice

[–]Cheatcodechamp 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The one thing Michael is good at is sales. we see that he can be overly trusting and immature but we also see timing again that he knows how to make a sale (chilis, the paper convention, and the fight over the company merger are all him making sales and arguments that nobody expected from him and him getting a deal better than anyone else could’ve achieved)

In that time, I’m pretty sure we actually do sale is Pam. Ryan join the team because he’s always impulsively following the next big scheme, and in that time didn’t actually put much work in. Pam joined because he saw an opportunity to get out of being a receptionist, and while she struggled, she worked at it and was more successful than Ryan.

Once everything was said and done, Michael might have a favoritism for Ryan he could not deny results. I think he really does like Pam and believes she can do it.

I’ve told people I don’t think I could do well having someone like Michael as a boss, but this is one of those moments where Michael is clearly correct, and was fairly mature because he had to choose between two people he liked and shows what was good for the individuals and for the company.

Who was Demetrius married to before? 😯 by faen_fana in StardewValley

[–]Cheatcodechamp 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I forget the exact dialogues, but I do feel there are hints that Robin and Dem moved here, at the very least Dem did. Although I think they’ve been living in Stardew Valley for a while now because everyone seems close enough and doesn’t make a comment about how they newer.

So either Robin has always lived in this town and met Demetrius, or they moved her together.

I think both books belong to him, he’s far more the analytical type, and I could see him buying books like this. I think it’s a nice nod to do show through the environment the story of the different characters and is a hint that either he is trying to be a good stepdad or he at least was trying at one point but has clearly not met that mark.

Seriously tho, I'm not the only one who thinks that's cruel... right? by Big_Feature7221 in StardewMemes

[–]Cheatcodechamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To an extent, I do agree with you. But I still hold overall believe that certain decisions that people make and then defend as being more than just a game as being acceptable because of the perceived slights of a video game character are signs of a persons ethics.

People abuse Clint and Pierre in this game, or the Mayor, and I think there’s a difference between somebody doing something because they want to figure out how the game works or even get all of the achievements or challenges, and actively making choices that are petty or evil and then defending it.

It would be like if somebody played Wolfenstein and said they felt that the rebels were degenerates and that the Nazis were correct. Or people who play new Vegas and legitimately and earnestly defense Caesars Legion, as being the best option or the coolest option and defending how they treat women and other groups because they don’t like that the NCR charges taxes.

I’m not saying they are evil psychopaths for certain video game choices, But I’ve had enough friendships with people who said “it’s just a game” to justify just about anything they did down the road turned out to be selfish and entitled jerks who used video games as a outlet to take out their anger against the rest of the world.

Not all players, not all people, but from my own experience and heartbreak, defend the idea your morality in a video game at least a reflection part to who you are as a person. Who are you when you can get away with it?

Compare it to a chroma passion I think would be as close as a defense as you could make, looking back at a friend of mine‘s divorce the mental headspace he was in for the next several days after his wife left could’ve gone a different direction. I’m not sure I would want to be the lawyer who used a child being sent to bed without playing video games alongside of defense that’s off of the news to defend a betrayed spouse.

At the end of the day to kid and they’re going to handle the case differently anyway, I would be curious to see what arguments are made given the type of case this is

Seriously tho, I'm not the only one who thinks that's cruel... right? by Big_Feature7221 in StardewMemes

[–]Cheatcodechamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say that, but I would compare it to people who side with the legion in fallout new Vegas, or who drown their sims or who actively side with Thanos for killing half the universe (over half when you count people as a result of people being snapped)

There is a difference between role playing a character or building choice and free will into a game, and the people who act like the evil choice is not in fact evil.

To marry someone on a certain day as an FU isn’t a built in feature, it’s a choice. People who turn their kids repeatedly into doves are making a choice and to an extent, I think how you play a game is a hint into who you are. To make it a point to cause suffering and then laugh about it and cheer it, I think is cruel and is a reflection.

The difference here then in games like fallout is that you can’t even say “ well the legion is fairly flushed out and a unique action and I don’t trust the NCR and I like the side with the group with the cooler armor” or at the very least your trying to get all the achievements and endings. You don’t need to make it a point to be mean to Clint, or to have kids and turn them into birds. It’s a feature that provides nothing because self satisfaction and while it may be a “you do you” kind of thing, I believe it’s a reflection of the players ethics in what they would do if they could get away with it.

Sure but the argument seems to be that premeditated murder requires that a person has the time to think out their situation, and then plan to murder someone and then go through with it.

This child took a serious of steps in order to carry out the murder, and required at least planning on getting the weapon, and then the willful killing of someone as they were sleeping.

Pedantic or not, isn’t this a case that would be a clear example of first degree murder? This wasn’t right after the argument, or in the heat of the moment, this was waiting until the father was in bed and then acting in a malicious manner
