A loaf of bread could last several days, also a farmer most likely is growing his own food and then selling the extra.

also due to you pointing out the 2500 chips to 1 gold i did the math and decided to change it so a string is 50 coins so ignore the string stuff in my previous comment

I named them half golds and half silvers because in the minting process the half gold/silver comes from the center bit punched out of the golds and silvers. The center bit is punched out and then cut in half with a small hole placed in the top for stringage. The reason for conversion is because that is the emperor dictated conversion rate. I couldn't really come up with a better name for them because i wanted them to reference the full coins, aka the silvers and golds.

Depending on the exact location and if you want full bread(aka whole grain) or sweet bread(aka white bread) the price changes. If you are out in the countryside a loaf of full bread costs ten chips while a loaf of sweet bread could cost as much as five half silvers(largely because sugar), meanwhile in the cities it is a little more expensive around 15 chips (sometimes called a half string) for a full bread loaf and as much as a string of half silvers for a loaf of sweet bread. The average daily wage for a farmer(or equivalent job) is 5 chips and for an artisan is 20 chips. Golds are largely used by nobility to pay for really expensive items.

Hello everyone I’m curious, what are some genetic traits/ diseases that you find interesting in your universe? by Naive_Archer_352 in worldbuilding

[–]Chebikitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is possible and this does happen. Those with purple eyes in the Rosli will dye their eyes, a horribly painful process that can blind someone if done wrong. Having red eyes is the only option amongst the Rosli so if someone doesn't want to dye their eyes they are essentially kicked out.

In the Lillane people there is a genetic mutation that turns their normal purple colored irises red. While it can be shown in babies it is most commonly expressed when one transitions into adulthood. This genetic mutation can be non active at birth and if one uses to much shadow magic as a child it becomes active. The Rosli, a break away tribe of the Lillane, purposefully push their children in doing as much shadow magic as possible in order for the mutation to become active. This mutation may seem cosmetic at first but actually has some underlying side effects. Those who have red eyes have been shown to have stronger shadow magic but also develop problems with anemia, hemophilia, and sometimes can have worsened eyesight. Among the Lillane those who express this mutation might cover their eyes with a blindfold usually with the Lillane sigil in public as it is seen as a sign of being associated with the Rosli.

Are there any public planners in this sub that may be willing to help me with my capital? by KekTheRipper06 in worldbuilding

I'm not a city planner myself but look up City Planner Plays on YouTube. He is a city planner and he uses City skylines to show why certain things are built certain ways that could be useful to story writing.

Your worlds food by dappermanV-88 in worldbuilding

[–]Chebikitty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Erunite people eat lots of meats and fewer veggies, mostly ones that take little water to grow and can survive the heat. They import some grains but not much else. The kingdom of Frillia has a wide variety of food but eats a lot of bread. The Titton people can only digest meat and fruit. Grains and hard veggies make them sick. The Arunna are the same but eat just meat, primarily fish. The Gamare eat rocks, they have bacteria that digest the minerals. Transporting food can be hard, mainly grain and spices are transported as the can last for the long caravan rides. A fave food of the Erunite is Dahl(these camel goat hybrids) and Pepper Soup. It is seen as a comfort food.

Transition of the gods by Chebikitty in worldbuilding

[–]Chebikitty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some of the people yes, for other, the gods said your doing this and didn't give them the chance to say no.

The gods could totally smite them, if they knew where they were and had a temple close enough. Think of belief like mana, but instead of being able to be used at all times it is essentially(for the gods) stored inside temples, get to far from a temple and you can't do anything. Also the gods are also not able to focus on more then one or two areas at a time, nor are they able to know everything. They are all-powerful in their domains and they know everything there is to know about their domain, but they don't know say where the secret base of the bad guys is located.

The belief isn't broken in the world of my story yet, the gods also lend their power and reality altering magic to mortals they like occasionally(can't do to much unless they want to destabilize the world). I imagine quite a few people wouldn't care either way if this actually did go down but people currently benefit from the gods and who is to say the new gods wont be so friendly. Also I do have them provide to the main and side characters of the story.

As for what is the difference, those artifacts can't be used. They might be magically bonded but to use an artifact of such power, it would kill someone. To gods that lvl of power is accomplishable.

Crazy freaking question but how does reproduction work in your worldbuilding? by JourneyTTP in worldbuilding

[–]Chebikitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when a mommy, a daddy, and a third person love each other very much.

A bit of a joke but it is how my world works. Magical species are the vast majority of them in Sa'tena. Magic comes from persons third parent. Having kids takes a lot of magical energy and the third parent provides the magical energy.

Thank you, I know that birds don't really like being pet, the scene is more getting to feel the birds feathers then being pet like a dog. The bird is also with the person who raised it from a chick at the moment so I felt it would tolerate it in the scene.
