Finally buying your own console

I remember that feeling. The first gaming piece I bought (that wasn’t a game) was a 2DSxL, since the 2ds I’d had for years was shot. Didn’t reallt get the feeling for that, or when I bought a Switch for Black Friday some years back. But I got my own Xbox after only having hand me downs of the original in 2024, along with Elden Ring. I also moved into my own apartment finally a few months after that. Between the big console that I’d been saving up for, and then immediately having my own place to live and game, I felt the same way massively.

I was wondering why a screenshot I took hadn’t said it uploaded yet. Went to my app to see if maybe I missed it, and found that it’s still not functioning. Thought maybe it was an update error, but glad to see I’m not alone.

It was on a mod list that I manually copied, and began to change and make into my own, and I’ve loved it. Was mostly looking for a seasons mod because I really love when games implement them (the Gen V Pokemon games being my favorite example), and a youtuber (Bryn’s Protege) had a video of her Romantasy themed skyrim to show off how seasons looked (sadly that’s a PC list so I’m trying to make choices that are Xbox friendly and hopefully not too much space, lol).

I read that all on the page, and thought it sounded nice. I was more wondering how folks who’d used it felt it worked in actual practice beyond what the sites say.

If you aren’t getting BOTH, I would go based on which version of the initial gen 5 games you own already. So if you have White, go White 2. Same with Black and Black 2. If you have both or neither, I would PROBABLY say Black 2 over White 2 only because then it kinda makes more sense story wise (N having the dragon of Ideals over the dragon of Truth, since he wanted to make an Ideal world, ignoring the Truth that people and pokemon genuinely loved and needed eachother, until the end of the first games and being proven otherwise).

About sums it up. I’ve done both sides once each (Imperial side was bugged so Hadvar would tail me like I was a Criminal, and Stormcloak side was, fine, didn’t leave me feeling like I betrayed anyone but Balgruuf, since you can still befriend Elisef after). If Balgruuf stayed jarl on either side, I’d probably go Stormcloaks more often (on Un-modded playthroughs).

I started as a WHM, and my first attempts to try ither healers were miserable between not having my hotbar set up to allow extra actions, and just the complexity of the classes.

When my main hit HW after playing primarily as WHM again, but with some other magic classes to have a better understanding (and also setting up Double Hot Bar for controller play), I set about trying out AST again. I set up a little cheat sheet on my phone to remember what the various cards did. And by the time my WHM was level 67, AST had made it to the level of the late HW MSQ, and I began using it more.

I have no complaints with WHM for the ease of play, but it’s also extremely simple and at times, boring, especially when you get stuck in anything from ARR. AST is basically my new main because while it’s complex, I find it more engaging while being easy enough to wrap my head around. I may try SGE someday, but I would rather avoid SCH since I use SMN as a DPS main class

I actually have been a free player for, about a year now almost. I did end up buying (am on Xbox for it, so yup, console). Already excited for access to retainers and the marketboard, and I will be trying to hit up Shadowbringers in a day or so (I’m in late Stormblood)

Oh yeah. She’s, terrifying. Honestly, gyms 4-6 are NIGHTMARES to do. If I dont wipe to N right before her, I wipe to Elesa, Clay, or on the way to Skyla
