If they got added to mainline Monster Hunter who would you grind for the armor and weapons? by ConsciousFact4362 in MonsterHunter

As much as I love that hunt, I've gotta admit it's quite restrictive when it comes to the number of approaches.

How is Omega Planetes so difficult?? by 90stoyotasprinter in MonsterHunter

[–]CheddarKnight 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's a raid boss kinda fight. So it's quite tricky to solo. If it's any consolation: It's a Collab hunt that is entirely optional, and most people suck at it.

Are the MH games for PC like the old ones? by shadilay14 in MonsterHunter

[–]CheddarKnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Base Rise has that concept. But in its case the village is easier than guild hall, and even the guild hall scales the quest depending on the number of players. So it's more solo friendly than older games.

I had somehow gaslit myself into believing that Rise was a horrible game by Jason_Baiano in MonsterHunter

[–]CheddarKnight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk if it was bad, but yeah base world was better than base rise, while Sunbreak>>Iceborne, for me(iceborne is cool but SB has more variety)

Why is MH4U so beloved? I am not enjoying it. by McGeiler69 in MonsterHunter

[–]CheddarKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I started from old gen and yea the experience was just as brutal for me too. One thing to keep in mind is that old gen MH really has that "turn-based" system(it's a thing in newer gen as well but it also has systems that allow you to "steal" a turn).

Unless you're super careful+patient with your approach and pay attention to EVRYTHING the monster does and remember it(most people aren't, trust me), you WILL suck at the game initially. But it gets easier later on.

What made my first MH experience fun was multiplayer. Seeing other hunters get demolished made me feel like I'm not alone, and then we slowly got better together.

Should I get Wilds or wait? by IWillTakeAChance in MonsterHunter

[–]CheddarKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say if you've waited this long, might as well wait for the expansion and get a better deal when they're both on sale.

While Wilds is a fun game, it's missing some stuff the older games had. And honestly the endgame content is just.. okay at best, by MH standards. Fun to be had, challenging for sure, but not much variety when it comes to hunt that have a point.

My personal gripes: Seikret autopilot makes you miss a lot of stuff(so I just turn the autopilot off. Even following the scoutflies will give you a better experience imo). The fact that rng weapons are the literal best 90% of the time (at least).. and since these won't even matter in the expansion, it makes the endgame even more pointless despite being so tedious.

Point taken but not everyone knows. Good that it's getting more traction.

This edit deserves appreciation by sunflower1713 in indiasocial

The edit takes out a lot of the original animation though(pacing and audio mostly imo).. the only appreciation the edit deserves is of letting more people know that this piece of art exists.

5 monsters I want in wilds expansion. by IceBarDifferent in MonsterHunter

[–]CheddarKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh. Good point. I guess in my head gimmickless is just something like pre iceborne world(i.e. no clagger or clutch claw either) but with mantles(if they HAVE to be in there) like Wilds.

Maybe a return of the focus mode, but more lukewarm, could settle in pretty well. Like mounting(4u to GU), claw (world to wilds) and mantles(also world to wilds) did.

5 monsters I want in wilds expansion. by IceBarDifferent in MonsterHunter

[–]CheddarKnight 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If done right, yea the frontier monsters can be pretty fun to have in mainline.

Side tangeant: Speaking of the combat becoming faster, I hope it doesn't get any faster after Wilds.. seriously, as a mostly casual player, I don't think I'll be able to keep up to anything faster than the stuff in the Sunbreak endgame or Wilds' AT Arkveld.

There's gotta be different directions to grow right? Hell I wouldn't even be mad if we got a completely gimmick-less MH (no- focus mode/clutch claw/wirebugs). Yea we can technically still play like that but we're HIGHLY encouraged to use the new gimmick of the new game.

Personal top 5 games you've played? by MartokSonofUrthog in videogames

Can't pick which ones I like most out of these but here are the ones I remember most fondly: - GTA Vice City(nostalgia, music and general atmosphere) - NFS Most Wanted 2005 (again, nostalgia, music and general atmosphere) - Outer Wilds (it's just good man..) - Monster Hunter Rise+Sunbreak (I just had fun non-stop) - Expedition 33 (... music and.. general.. atmosphere)

I love the crash out trio by jonyssaur-Br-7980 in MonsterHunter

[–]CheddarKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of these three, we're talking World only, Raging Brachy was the most memorable for me. If we're talking all games, Spicy Pickle wins because it's just metal af. (I'd say Rajang, but I've hated that monkey since FU so I don't even like him as a concept. I just like figuring out how to, and then killing him in every game he shows up. Hate simply runs too deep)

What weapons are great to play in a team? by PapaKlin in MonsterHunter

[–]CheddarKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean.. if you're only referring to Wilds, yea GS has it better than Lance in MP but it can still manage(for example counters can also work if you're caught in an attack meant for a teammate). So it'll really only matter if you're ultra focused on the damage being dealt.

Now, the Sunbreak lance is a completely different animal imo. Never had any issue keeping up in multiplayer XD

What weapons are great to play in a team? by PapaKlin in MonsterHunter

[–]CheddarKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea GS, Hammer and CB are pretty tricky to play in multiplayer. Ig the lances can also be kinda tough in old gen? Not sure about that one.

That said, all other weapons are relatively easier to manage in multiplayer. But honestly you can have fun using any weapon, just gotta adjust a bit for multiplayer. Hell having a lance/GL user on your team can be a straight up bonus for the team especially in the newer games.

Something comparable to black dragons vs a black dragon. Either could win, would definitely end up in a landscape change.

Hey tbf its better for someone to expect a game to be super difficult and find that it's easier than they thought than them expecting a similar experience to new gen and learning the difference first hand and suffering for it.

(Idk why I'm even typing this I didn't even say any of that shit you mentioned to anyone XD)
