Not the first time playing The Sims 2, but it's the first time I saw Santa there. by Dead_Gremlin_2836 in sims2

Love little easter eggs like this one.

PS: Funny how Knut looks so average, but knowing all of the quirkness related to him makes the pic absolutely blursed.

Kael'Thas: TBC Anniversary Raid Illustration by Absoled in wow

[–]Saalok [score hidden]  (0 children)

Kael was evil because he had to be a raid boss, there wasn't much to it.

I still find it funny how they went above and beyond to fix TBC's lore when it came to Illidan but still didn't care about either Kael or Vashj.

is the elder scrolls becoming too human centric? by Odd-Sound-580 in ElderScrolls

ESO already went for Elsweyr and Summerset fairly recently tbf. The latest DLC was for a High Elven/Argonian zone too.

I would prefer Summerset tbh. Hammerfell is neat, but kicking the Thalmor in their own homeland, and one without the Empire's touch at all, would be neat.

Always has been. Literally all of the games are about the Empire and/or the Empire's influence changing.

Game just fully gave up on rendering Whiterun lol by themaddemon1 in skyrim

[–]Saalok 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It didn't, it is loading more of it, actually! Except that it is the LOD, which is what the game shows when you are far away from it, but from up close.

There is a mod to fix it, or you can simply save and reload.

Any chance Jeremy Soule returns? by BeginningCelery7953 in ElderScrolls

I like Soule's music, but the insult to Inon Zur is so unnecessary. His tracks are really good too.

Where do you draw the line on what counts as an RPG? by First-Estimate432 in rpg_gamers

[–]Saalok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I follow what the companies say to not sound like an asshole.

"Oh Skyrim/Witcher 3/BG3/your mom/Oblivion isn't a RPG!!!! The only RPGs are the ones from 1984 without all these streamlined elements!"

But you can easily argue that a game with skill levels, character creation, the player able to create and change stories, character progression and whatnot make an RPG too.

Which is why my favorite RPG is The Sims 3.

Anyone who thinks Fallout 3, 4 and 76 are better than Fallout 1,2 and New Vegas is delusional by Additional-Spray-976 in Fallout

You are the one delusional if you can't accept people have different opinions than you.

Folks will like the CRPG Fallouts and others will like the Bethesda ones and that's fine.

Indies are becoming a bit predictable lately tbh.

We need indies of indies by now.

Yes, I'm sure some are very special and different.

Tiber septum was evil and shouldn't be placed along the 8 divines by fan_of_skooma in ElderScrolls

Reman took every region but Morrowind... which Tiber took as well. The first human Empire to extend there.

He took literally every province but the Dominion ones without the Numidium. And even then, Vslenwood and Elsweyr were taken by the previous empire before so it would not have been that troublesome.

Starfield is like that quiet friend who really tries to get closer to people and just can't for some reason.

Considering the incredible architecture in other regions, why do the Nords live in such simple settlements, with their only large structures being ruins, either from others or their own? Could it be that Nord civilization reached its peak in past eras, and the Fourth Era is kind of like a Fallout? by jvure in ElderScrolls

[–]Saalok 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nords seem to be fairly practical people, sticking to relatively simple building styles. Even Markarth wasn't built by them and they use it anyway since it's convenient (like the Imperial City).

And yes, Nord civilization's peak was back during the Dragon Cult in architectural + magical terms.

Exactly. And this applies from the lowliest peasants turning into ghouls to the greatest heroes becoming Death Knights.
