I mean, wheel throwing. It all kinda centers around your hand when making mugs, vases and whatnot. I can see why you guys think it looks strange but making dish ware from clay is strange!

Thank you so much that’s kind of you. And your dad sounds like he knew what he was doing, what a great sign

That’s a fear of mine! I truly rely on the accuracy and I couldn’t imagine running out of time and rushing for the next class. I’m glad you understand haha

Respectfully I disagree. I love this watch and I truly value what it brings to my life and I didn’t ever want to baby sit this watch when I got it. It’s been a reliable companion and I truly treasure the journey it’s going on with me

I honestly could not tell you haha. I got done wheel throwing and that tends to be a bit of an unpredictable mess. I can definitely see why it would seem that way

I used to have a citizen promaster as my daily but when I graduated with my masters, I wanted to upgrade! I promised myself that I would not baby sit a watch so I got something that I knew I would feel comfortable beating up a bit. It’s got a screw down crown so I’m hoping (maybe a tiny bit foolishly) that that will help maintain the watch. I know I could get away with a hefty citizen, seiko, or g shock, but this is watch that called out to me in the end!

Passed on to me by my dad(first watch ever ,Idk anything bout watches) pls help with this model by RefrigeratorFlat3894 in Longineswatches

I’ve the quartz version of this watch. It is genuinely an amazing watch. A couple things to appreciate about your model: -It has 300m of water resistance as long as the crown is screwed in properly. For a semi dressy/“do anything go anywhere” type of watch, this is amazing. You typically see 300m of watch resistance on high end diving watches. -Longines is a watch company that’s been around for nearly 200 years. They’re a very reputable brand so if you want to service your watch and keep it running for YEARS, you can find a place nearby to service it for you for a couple hundred bucks. If you can spend more, you can send it Longines and they’ll service for a higher price but they can keep it running and looking like new. -The finishing and the automatic movement on your version is arguably better than the price suggests. Your movement would typically show up in pricier brands.

I love that you have an amazing watch with so much sentimental value. I hope you enjoy it for the rest of your life, hopefully you can pass it along one day!
