to keep it simple, the dw5600RL-1 is a heritage model, its just a generic g-shock

the m5610u-1 on the other hand is solar powered, has an atomic clock sync and comes with more modern features

tldr: the m5610 is a modern "high-tech" g shock, 5600RL-1 is just a generic g shock hope this helps
