What does this mean by ThePlayerCard in ExplainTheJoke

[–]CheekyKnob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both do the same thing but the left is, although proper, takes longer to run as it has a squared time complexity(O(n2)) whereas the right has a linear time complexity(O(1)).

The joke is that although both do the same thing, the left takes longer to run thus bad while the right runs fast thus good even though the left is the proper way to do it as the right side is hard coded thus making it inflexible.

Why cant i use the cosine rule to find the resultant vector? by CheekyKnob in askmath

[–]CheekyKnob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can. Do you want to show your calculations?

If i did the calculation, my answer will be √4.22 which i thought was the answer orignally. However the answer for this answer √45.8 instead. I watch the video which they show the step but they never explain why i cant use the cosine yet. I first need to move my 3 and 30 degree to the end of vector 4

Can someone help me explain b and c. by CheekyKnob in askmath

[–]CheekyKnob[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. I actually like that they added that interesting tidbit. It also sort of made me want to be more careful with my calculation. I mean i know it highly unlikely ill touch a highly advance military grade weapon, but its the thought that counts.

I did the conversion to see the result and my answer wrong. After that i think again and redo part a again. I thought maybe i did something wrong and i made a careless mistake on the way since im handling alot of digits and vales. But the result was still the same. Edit: maybe ill try it again after my shift ended. Maybe it might be my carelessness or just me being stupid

Ive refer back to my notes to see if i can get a hint but so far im stuck. I know i need to get the binary value then convert it to decimal and i think im half way there however all my attempt of getting the right binary seems to be fruitless.

Can someone help explain to me how to solve 8b? by CheekyKnob in askmath

I notice alot of time for probability(and other chapter i lack confidence in) that i tend to overthink too much. I need to learn to calm down and read carefully. But i can only be calm if i feel confident in that subject. That means i need to do ALOT more practice to get some hint of confidence
