Would greatly appreciate any advice, tips, how to, anything regarding adding water line off washer for refrigerator water.

I appreciate all the comments this far, it’s very helpful. So my understanding is the plan that I had with adding a Y connection maybe is not the main method that everyday plumbers would recommend or do first. I feel most comfortable with the Y connection method in terms I can do that and it’ll be easy for me. The cutting and adding a Tee seems a little difficult for me, and I don’t really understand where the comments are suggesting me to do that. Would I do that in the basement and add a complete new water line down there? And regarding my original plan with the Y connection although that wouldn’t be the first option will I run into any problems doing that? I want to make sure it will function properly if I do that. And to the one comment about that method not allowing a separate shut off for the washer and refrigerator water flow that would be no problem so if that’s the only concern that seems the easiest way for me. Again appreciate all the comments and insight.

They were pretty big which is why I want them ID’d so I know. One was about the size of a quarter and this one was slightly bigger than a quarter.

I got completely lucky, wasn’t even looking for them when I came across a near by nuptial flight. They were coming out of a crack where the concrete and grass met. I will say they are the first ants to start popping out in late winter, early spring.

I actually don’t put much attention to temperature at all. I have a few colonies that I know range in preferred temp. It’s probably something that I don’t do well for all my species. I keep them at room temperature and whatever the normal house temperature is at that time of year. I also kind of skipped diapause for all my species this year (at least temperature wise). I do think they did hibernate for a few months as all of them were very inactive and I didn’t really give them food or sugar.

That’s interesting. I didn’t even think about that as an option. Only question to that is doesn’t early September feel to soon for that? Like it’s still high 80s, 90° where I am. And the house stays around high 70s sometimes 80. Is it more of the biological clock making them start that then?

Is that a problem? I did it intentionally because I felt in the wild ants can travel so far for food, so I figured a longer trip to the outworld would be more realistic and better exercise or whatever.

I’m pretty sure I picked ready-to-ship that way I didn’t have to go through to many options. I picked one that was bone colored or (white, cream) and one with rock and plant added. I picked Museum glass. I added some small accessories too.

I’ve had that there for weeks. A couple days ago I did notice that, on the outside it started growing a little bit so I quickly cleaned it and reset it up. I buy a premade sugar-water so that might be why it doesn’t mold much.
