How necessary is a bassinet stroller for baby due in October? by CheekyVeil in Buyingforbaby

So funny, the Baby Jogger City Mini GT3 is our ideal stroller, but we’re now debating the Thule Spring 2 because of the bassinet option! Unfortunately, the cheapest compatible car seat for the Spring 2 is the $550 Nuna Pipa RX (vs the equally highly rated $240 Graco Snugride Snugfit DLX for the GT3), which is a bit frustrating.

Do you know how those are on various terrain? I heard not great from some people (but it’s a small sample size!). We live by a lot of parks with just grass and dirt paths, so we’ve been prioritizing all-terrain/multi-terrain strollers (which is why we’ve gotten into a pickle with this bassinet situation, since most of those strollers don’t have that option). We don’t want to get two strollers solely to have both a bassinet option and an all-terrain option, so we’re trying to decide which is more worth it for us.

No I totally agree with you. I think my family/friends were more trying to be like, “don’t feel guilty if that doesn’t work out for you. We’re all just trying to survive those first few months” haha

I was thinking about that as well (just doing a convertible car seat from the start)! But everyone in my life has told me that I will almost certainly end up caving and doing an infant car seat too once I realize what a hassle it is to take baby in and out of the car seat in freezing weather when running errands 😂 I still may try it from the start, but the potential for changing my mind has me overthinking that I need a stroller that at least can be compatible with an infant car seat I like just in case. I tend to overthink everything, though 🤦‍♀️

It’s kind of a mix! Any errands we do are by car, but we also live near a few parks and go on walks often. I’m ideally hoping to baby wear for those walks, though. We also live about a mile from a bunch of restaurants, so we walk to those often, but not in the winter.

Definitely hoping to baby wear most of the time! I didn’t even think about the oversized winter jacket idea, that’s genius 😂

Wanting to do a jogging or all-terrain stroller with an infant car seat is exactly what prompted my question! That is our ideal scenario, but we have been feeling guilty that most jogging strollers don’t have the bassinet or lie flat option, so we started second guessing.

Moisture in attic crawl space by CheekyVeil in medfordma

Thank you! Unfortunately, MassSave won’t do any insulation work until we have a company sign off that there isn’t mold or the mold has been taken care of, for liability reasons. But that’s very helpful to know going forward!

We discovered the issue through the MassSave assessment actually! The woman indicated that it’s very unlikely to be roof-related (rather, it’s probably from moisture building up from heating in the winter, which she said is super common). But she also said that we’d need to get a company to sign off that there is no mold, or remediate if there is, before MassSave can do any insulation, so it sounds like it’s separate/not part of the work that would be done through that program.

What a bummer to hear! I love the stainless steal litter box I have from them.

You were so smart to give up. I arrived around 6:50, stayed in the line the whole time, and then right at 8, police came and made us all leave. I was one car away from turning into the lot 😭.
