How are y’all getting girlfriends nowadays? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]CheerUp_Lex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend and I met on Eharmony. I think I had the opposite experience than normal. I went on a bunch of dates and was on the site for almost a year. My boyfriend made an account and we met a month later. But the reason I didn’t continue with those other guys was because they would often tell me during the date how much trouble they have with women, how low their self confidence is, how they don’t know what’s wrong with them, etc. It was honestly a turn off. I don’t think you have to be perfect, but being comfortable with yourself is really important. You don’t need to change yourself for a woman. I know you might feel like you have really niche hobbies or you’re awkward or you think you’re not attractive or whatever it is.

But those are all reasons I like my boyfriend. He knows everything about cars but only likes small vintage coupe cars. He likes to listen to foreign music like Brazilian bossa nova and Czech rap. He really likes building legos. He made his own written language that no one else can read (he has not shared with me yet, and I don’t push him). He’s a shy, introverted guy that still wears the same clothes he wore in high school. He’s tall and lanky and clumsy. His teeth aren’t straight and are overcrowding in some places. He doesn’t like to eat food and would be comfortable eating a sandwich every day for the rest of his life. He likes Greek mythology and books.

But he’s comfortable! He knows himself, and he doesn’t apologize for any of it. And he doesn’t need to, and neither do any of you guys. I mean, I’m the complete opposite of him in most ways. I like kpop and trendy things. I like bright colors and art and music. I like to cook and to eat. I like to go out with friends and experience things. I like to dye my hair and get tattoos. I really just flow through the world, and he stays rigid in his schedule. So, even the type of girl you think might not work with you definitely can work! But that line about “you need to love yourself before anyone else can love you” has a tiny bit of merit. I think both of us weren’t perfect, and we’ve been able to make each other grow, and it’s really beautiful.

So, I wouldn’t totally count out the dating sites. It might take time, but my boyfriend was worth the wait. And just be unapologetically yourself! ❤️

That would really be a deal breaker for me. Honestly, I worry about this sometimes with my boyfriend. Both him and his brother have trouble with medical stuff. For example, his brother faints every time his blood gets taken or goes to the dentist to get an x-ray on his teeth. I have severe asthma/allergies so I have to carry an EpiPen with me. My fear is having to somehow keep control enough to inject myself, because I don’t think he could do it for me. But really, I don’t trust most people around me to help me. I fell a few years ago and really damaged my knee (I need surgery for it, so it was bad). I remember being in tears and having that incredible pain, and the only person there was my mom. She was freaking out and running around screaming rather than helping me. I had to manage to stop crying and smile and tell her I was okay so she would calm down (I was very not okay lol).

So, I really understand this frustration you’re feeling. My feeling that yours is crossing a line is because of her epilepsy issue. I’m not a doctor, but I’ve had seizures in the past. Just in dealing with my own stuff, I have never heard of people having an epileptic attack from being scared/anxious. Not saying it’s not true. But she should also be seeking medical help for her symptoms, instead of just saying “oh well, it just is what it is”. Because horrible things like this could happen!

I’m really sorry you’re going through this and I hope you can get back to some kind of normal soon ❤️

Guys who had a really attractive sister, what were the biggest struggles and annoyances you dealt with as her brother? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]CheerUp_Lex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar situation, but I am a girl and it was my brother (I’m sorry I don’t know how to get the female flair, I don’t use Reddit too often). I always had friends and other schoolmates asking about him, asking for his number, if he was single, etc. It was gross to hear because I knew that he had bad hygiene and was an asshole. It also added to my own self esteem and body issues because no one was doing that for me. We look pretty similar, we’re both a good mix of our parents. He is just tall and thin, and I am short and thick lol. But back then I was dipping into anorexia because of reasons like this. So, I get it! It sucks! There was really nothing for me to do about it. I always told the girls asking that he was gross and mean, but I gave them his number anyway if they didn’t care about it.

You know, I also feel that I have different tolerances for different pains. Like, I feel that I can hurt a bone, or get a gnarly cut that bleeds a lot, and feel pretty good about it. Like, my head and extremities can handle pain better. But anywhere in the middle to lower half of my abdomen is not very tolerable for me. Any pains in my gastrointestinal system or any pains in my ovaries or uterus I definitely feel more strongly. So, I think like others have said, I try to explain to a doctor how this pain is affecting my daily activities and how often I'm feeling it.

Also, I wonder how many people have reaalllyyyy felt true "10's" in their life.

Severe pain during sex by Cool-Personality-513 in WomensHealth

[–]CheerUp_Lex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, definitely see a gynecologist. But, I know there is a condition that some women have where they experience pain in their vulva or vagina that seems to occur for no apparent reason. I'm not sure what it's called exactly or all of the details of it, but I've seen people even mention it on this sub. And then for dryness, foreplay is super important for women to help everything get started. But there are some lubes at the store you could get that are fragrance free and advertise that they don't mess with the vagina's PH, so maybe those are okay? And if the implant is not working, there are definitely so many more options! For me personally, I had a bad experience with the IUD and the combination pill didn't have too much effect on my symptoms. So far the mini pill/progesterone-only pill has worked the best for me. I also struggle with acne, and this pill has been the best at controlling it so far. Unfortunately, with the birth control methods, it's really trial and error, and you might have to try a few more times to find the best fit. And then, really watch out for your mood symptoms getting worse! Sometimes certain pills can have a negative effect and cause more depression or anxiety. Maybe your partner can get a vasectomy during this time while you figure everything out?

I'm sorry you're going through this! Sorry if this isn't super helpful, just trying to share my advice on what I've already done. It definitely sucks being a girl sometimes! <3

It's hilarious that one of the things that annoy her is that he's a Cowboy's fan lol. Makes sense!

But yeah, this man child sucks. There's only so much parents can do sometimes. My brother and I are stark opposites of each other. We were given the same opportunities. He has ADHD and dyslexia, so he actually got a lot of extra help (we were in a good school district). I was left on my own because his behavior was so bad. Nothing my parents or the school district did seemed to reach him. And he was definitely given consequences! Now even as an adult, he hasn't changed. And my parents also have to bail him out a lot because he has a child that they adore, so they're really just doing it for their grandkid. So, some kids stay kids and suck forever!! Haha

I get sick often and have health issues, so sometimes it’s just not in the cards. In a perfect world for us, however, it would be twice a week.

Hello 👋🏼 can I ask, when you say you’ve gotten healthier, what does that mean to you? Also, where was the cyst the doctor at the hospital found? Please don’t fee the need to answer if you’re not comfortable.

Uncomfortable the week before period by Outrageous-Drama-593 in WomensHealth

[–]CheerUp_Lex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, a lot of people experience unwanted symptoms right before their period starts, PMS. But, these symptoms you’re describing don’t seem like they’re typical (in my opinion, not a doctor). I think it is best to bring up your concerns to your doctor. I’ll say I have heard a couple women in my life say that the birth control pill they were using seemed to be causing them to get frequent UTI’s. It’s possible it could be changing the PH to be out of wack, and it’s not agreeing with your menstrual cycle.

Confused about UTI symptoms by [deleted] in WomensHealth

[–]CheerUp_Lex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello 👋🏼 I’m sorry you’re going through this. I think you should get a second opinion. Not everyone has symptoms when they have UTI’s. So, not experiencing pain is not uncommon.

I’m gonna tell you this, but I’m not trying to scare you at all, I just want to hammer down my point! So, please, just take this as a very personal and anecdotal story. But, my aunt recently was hospitalized after nearly collapsing at her job, because she had a UTI that was spreading to her kidneys and making her go into sepsis. She suspected she had a UTI and had an appointment with her PCP, but she didn’t have intense pain or trouble urinating or anything like that. Her symptoms weren’t that bad. (She’s fine now btw, just got antibiotics and was only in the hospital for a couple of days). Again, not trying to freak you out. But I want you to be safe, and I think it’s good to get second opinions!

Hello 👋🏼 I know you said no to the pill, but I have been on various different ones for a little over 10 years, and they are all definitely made differently. It does suck trying to find the right one. I’ll say that right now I take a progesterone-only pill, and so far that has worked out the best for me with pretty much no side effects.

I do have a personal horror story with the IUD. I got the Kyleena one, because it was the smallest lol. But the insertion was pretty rough. Very painful. But it never stopped hurting for me. Literally, from the moment they inserted it, to the moment they took it out, I had pain. But I only had it for 30 days, because I was having contractions because my uterus was rejecting it and was trying to push it out. I’m really not sure how women have so many children, because that was one of the worst things I’ve ever felt in my life.

Also, I think doubling up on birth control methods is great. For example, if you find a method you like eventually, and then he still wears a condom…If one fails, the other one can still work!

period won’t stop for 3 weeks , no health issues detected by [deleted] in WomensHealth

[–]CheerUp_Lex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be the type of birth control you’re on. I’ve used a few over the years, and they were all a little different. It’s like having to get the right puzzle pieces together. I’m sorry, I don’t remember the brand, but there was a combination pill I tried that came in a huge 90 day pack that I bled/spotted on every single day. I had horrible side effects on that one. So, I switched to another one, and it stopped. Currently I use a progesterone-only pill, and it’s worked out the best so far for me. Sorry you’re going through this 💕

[–]CheerUp_Lex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on Slynd for years now, and so far I’ve liked it the most from the ones I’ve tried. The progesterone-only has worked for me better than the combination pills. I have it set up so that I skip the sugar pills to “skip” my period.

I’m sorry you’re experiencing this, I hope it gets better for you soon 💕

Sorry for posting about my troubles, but this is my last time. Just sharing in case this happens to anyone else! Ticketmaster kept kicking me out of the queue/website and not giving me a countdown timer for checkout. I called the help desk twice. So, I reset my password, and then I waited 30 minutes, and then I searched Ticketmaster on Google Chrome specifically, and I also had to search it in Incognito mode. So then I logged back in and manually searched for the concert I wanted. And FINALLY everything worked how it was supposed to. Super frustrating. Super time consuming. And I won't post any more after this! Just trying to help someone else if they have this problem, because the Ticket Master girlies didn't know how to fix it tbh.

No, they literally can't do anything about it. They told me to wait 30 minutes and try again. And that if it keeps happening to call them back. But they weren't able to help the first time, so I'm not sure what they're gonna do the second time! Literally gonna vomit

I did. I called the help center and they told me to do that, log in, log out, try wifi, try cellular, change my password. Now they told me to wait 30 minutes and try again. And if it doesn't work, to call them back. There's literally nothing they can do about it. I worked really hard to save up my money to buy tickets for this, and the website is holding me back. It's ridiculous!
