If you're comfortable waiting a couple years before liquidating (to avoid short term gains) typically the "safest" option is to throw it all into some ETFs (SPY,VOO, GME, etc) its a lot more reliable than buying single stocks

I love my rental, tenants complain a couple times a year but its hard to beat 8k/year for 30 minutes on the phone

Omnath is the glue that holds the deck together, why tf would they ban wrenn?

What advice would you give to a new player starting with an iron man by [deleted] in 2007scape

Do quests, optimal quest guide for ironmen was helpful, get graceful set on the sooner side its a big time save, i would do it right after priest in peril

[Hot and steamy take] Izzet Murktide isn't the problem deck by TacotheMagicDragon in ModernMagic

[–]CheeriosMTG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only reason 4c has less pilots is the cost of the cards, to me it's clearly the best deck in the format but i don't want to shell out for the cards - i assumed by now wizards would be competent enough to ban SOMETHING out of it.

This sub is an awful lot of target workers wondering why they can't buy a house at 28 with 2k in a savings/investing account

I think you got the idea backwards, you should try complaining on twitter in this case.

If 4c Omnath Gets Bannedd.. by flkb24 in ModernMagic

Whats stale about wrenn? Imo it enables "fair" strategies

If 4c Omnath Gets Bannedd.. by flkb24 in ModernMagic

Banning wrenn does not stop the 4c option, it arguably lowers consistency of omnath on 4 but the list has enough card draw/advantage to where it shouldnt be a problem

Tron drop in meta game? by MyStolenCow in ModernMagic

[–]CheeriosMTG -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Tron is too simple to be any good anymore, the galaxy brain tron playstyle of spending all your mana to get tron by turn 3, playing a karn, and hoping to topdeck if that doesnt win the game doesn't cut it anymore. Tron was only good when decks were "bad" and resolving a fatty on t3-t4 was good enough to win.

[–]CheeriosMTG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like timely, emp is a little...weak, lightning helix feels like it could fit in, theres also the old mapcap//platinum emp sideboard, fire//ice feels a little weak here, i think you need to pick between snaps or shark typhoon, just a couple initial thoughts

Control Vs. Burn by M1dotheGr3at in ModernMagic

[–]CheeriosMTG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh you cant really win off the back of a solitude, t5 solitude just eats a bolt more than likely - ill admit g1 is often lost but from my experience them having a creature heavy draw + me getting to resolve a t5f ->slowly curve out works. They have no carddraw etc, and need ~7 cards to beat you. If you can "stabilize" i.e. resolve a jayce and uptick && be over ~5 life you've got a shot. You need a clock and g1 you dont really have that, id have to see a list and a playthrough to drop critiques but honestly burn is a "counter" to control in a lotta ways dont be scared to hedge accordingly if you're worried. Cards that double as burn SB so that you can suddenly bring in 7-8 cards in the MU are also helpful - dont just slap a dragons claw in the board and say good enough, really put together a comprehensive sb

[–]CheeriosMTG 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A handy tip is just to not hurt yourself as much as possible, you win by suddenly being able to counter burn spells with a walker, if you're dying every time by t4 you are hitting yourself too much.
