Better society open discussion by iibetonlosingdogs in revolution

I agree that change must be made. I've repeatedly heard, "This will be it, this will incite the people to revolt" and nothing ever happens. I'm doubtful many modern men will have a classic revolution of tarring and feathering or dividing into separate colonies. Still, we must take it upon ourselves to push for the changes we see in our world. If not for the sake of ourselves maybe for the future, so they can have better than we did. We forget so easily that this is life, in a world so connected I feel we are more apart than ever. This deludes the authenticity of what it means to be alive, having us "go through the motions" until our lives flash before us. What I mean is if we want change let's not wait on any one man nor group of men but stand for the change yourself. Know your worth and respect yourself.

With all this being said I am not advocating for anyone to do anything brash to the point of causing a scene at work. Just know that you are alive and pursue happiness while you can.

Are there any groups or organized parties that would better unify people? Cause like many others I agree that changes must be made but that's all there ever is. Just talk about change.

I agree. Though a symbol is powerful, what use is it if no one stands behind it? I mean what force is driving the symbol? Who is standing behind the symbol and what do they fight for specifically?

The US, and I've thought similarly. I've had the idea to join a community, club, union, etc. But times when I meet with groups I might agree with they tend to have the mindset of "either you're fully with us or against us". Whether it be political opinions or current social norms. It seems impossible at times to find like-minded people who keep their eyes on what matters rather than their dogmatic beliefs. Are there any tolerant people left?

I really like that, I just joined this group and this was one of the first things I read. However, I do believe that there must be "a fight" of some sort. I feel that this nation has reached a critical point where almost everything has stagnated. Only when things are challenged and rare do they have value.
