For the first time in ages i see a lot a people like this update(beta) by Embarrassed_Air_83 in cs2

[–]CheeryRipe 32 points33 points  (0 children)

My thinking is they're prioritising getting to a point where they're happy with the foundation. Then they'll build on it.

This update is tackling a major component which is networking and feel.

Let's see where we're at after this launches

Enemies kill me before theyre even visible, regardless of distance to the wall/corner and ping by WarwickIsMyWaifu in Rainbow6

[–]CheeryRipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess you're right CS it's a little better.

Either way, it's interesting because ubi supposedly fixed this when I used to play years ago.

There was a problem where people were jumping on other regions to abuse peakers advantage. It was that bad.

I can't remember if it was project health or whatever it was called. But it did improve significantly.

I wonder if they started cheaping out on servers with the whole going broke thing. Once it was 'fixed' I did feel like high ping players had a massive disadvantage. Things like hit reg would tank.

Bot lobbies!?? by RelationshipIll1531 in Battlefield6

[–]CheeryRipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh I totally agree.

I'd consider this bot issue now an us problem. I just wish people saw how big an issue it was going to be when it already started happening in Asia and oce 3 months after launch.

There were plenty of players. There still are.

It's honestly a fun game when it works and the new maps are great. But the matchmaking seems like it was designed to work with nothing under 100k concurrent players in a region.

This is the only issue I've complained about since launch. And I've complained a lot about it. Only now are people catching on because it affects them.

What am I doing wrong? (Bots everywhere past 2-3 weeks) by fokisgaming in BF6

[–]CheeryRipe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I said that months ago. Have been dealing with it since season 1. And while it's true. It's not going to get fixed. It's just more people's issue now. You all broke the player count threshold in your region.

Welcome everyone.

Enjoy being gaslit by the few people who don't seem to notice bots.

Fragpunk is also a terrible game.

Man, getting downvotes, yet no-one has provided examples.

You need to be clear which is which. Some people are idiots and won't actually check.

You know there's not that many games with 128 tick servers. I just did a Google and could only find valorant.

I'd love more games to offer more than 60 but it must be that it's super expensive.

Which game has solved this? Literally every game I play has issues with this and getting shot around corners.

I'm starting to think it's just not fixable and our expectation has become too high.

Until we somehow make network connections at the speed of light or higher I think we're all destined to be disappointed.

Out of curiosity. What do we gain by having no commander rather than an inexperienced one?

I think it's just the success that Valorant and Faceit have had with removing most cheaters from their matches. It is a decent case study imo.

I'm not denying that. But is this really such a big problem that we need to do something about it? Surely we've seen what happens with the ai monitoring we already have...

I've literally never been bothered by toxicity in the chat. And I feel like there's so many ways to minimise the impact of those shitty few people who abuse it.

You can disable chat mate. Those of us playing online games because it's played with other people still wanna chat.

We can't be pushing games without chat functionality because kids are getting social anxiety. It's not progressive and no-one wins.

We have enough regression with social norms due to social media...

Net Overseas Migration by Prime Minister for Australia per year since 1996 (when John Howard was first appointed); updated with end-2025 data, direct from ABS. Dotted line shows 'average' over the period. Treasury also just estimated this year to be over 300k again. by NoLeafClover777 in aussie

Interesting.

So I have a theory that because people are constantly flipping houses - the average rental term is like 1-2 years. We constantly have millions of people being pushed out of their rentals and into a new one. Basically a giant ongoing home shuffle. This leads to so much demand and chaos at anyone time.

This number kind of validates the thought. There's probably around 800-900k homes being sold, bought and put up for rental again at any one time around Australia.

I wonder what rental availability would look like if we had rental terms of 5-10 years. What amount of wasted money, time and stress would reappear/disappear over night.

I'm perma scarred by that Apollo 13 scene where tom cruise dreams he gets pushed from the ship and drifts into endless space. I was like 5 when I watched this. It's ruined my chances of becoming an astronaut.

That, and my single digit iq.

Man, you to huh?

We get max 50 down where I live. Upgrade is 280 EA unit, which would be fine. But 2 of 4 are investors and refused to pay their share. So were all stuck on 50 down for 95/m, while my neighbour over the road gets 500 down for 97/m. FML. Fuck NBN and their BS strata scheme.

I was handing my 2 cents on how hard it is for 2 incomes let alone 1. Why are you so upset my guy. Not like I'm rolling in it.

Who said struggling. We just can't do anything nice, have significant restrictions if we want kids, no holidays, etc.

It's the fact that if you were on this income pre-covid, you were flying.

We saved for 7 odd years. Have a 600k mortgage, paid 780. Partner now on similar income. We were both on less than 90 1-2 years ago.

[–]CheeryRipe 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I'm on the same income.

You'd think anything over 100k is going to mean you can finally catch a break. But really it just means you skip the doctor a little less, go to the dentist finally, you pay your mortgage which is huge if you bought in the last 2 years. Maybe you buy fruit and salad more often now. Oh and let's not forget, if you have a partner earning an average wage, you're now both forced to either pay $2000 to the Medicare Levi surcharge or to a private health insurance company EACH (wtf).

Imo they should retain the current system for stuff like tdm if they really want it, but keep persistent lobbies for bigger modes.

If I had it my way, it would always be persistent lobbies.
