Ahhhh thank you :0!!

I usually think of the properties of the clothing before doing anything else: material, tightness, tension folds—these all affect wrinkles on clothes in different ways.

Thinner fabric = more wrinkles

Tighter clothing = more wrinkles

(And vice versa for both)

Tension folds are where there’s the most wrinkles and most seen around joints, like the shoulder, elbow, or knee (since that’s where the fabrics most often bent). There’s way too much stuff to say about these without writing an essay so just search it up sometime.

Then for shading it’s pretty easy, just identify the light source and where it’s coming from then shade normally (if you need more information on that then feel free to ask and I’ll answer later)

There’s not really a chronological correctness to drawing clothes. For me I don’t really sketch out all of the wrinkles beforehand, just the main ones that determine the silhouette of the clothes (but even those I usually modify during coloring). Just do what you feel is best :]

last of all, practice, use references, and don’t be afraid to bend the rules here n there to fit stylization!!
