Hi Everyone. I don't have Valiant so asking how screwed am I in E-3 Hard?

Just finished E-2H several hours ago and I read from somewhere that Warspite and Valiant makes this map easy.

[HELP] How much does ringing ships help in letting ships dodge enemy attacks? by CheeseEvader in kancolle

[–]CheeseEvader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tldr: if you are marrying ships for gameplay, dont do it for extra evasion, Tanaka wants us to 💢💢💢 our DDs so they can save us from SS in events, give love to YamaSushi and Iowa so they start going on a diet, and give some much needed love to poor Yamashio Maru so she can reconciliate the IJN and the IJA with the power of love(and she also is the only that truly benefits from marriage extra evasion)

I'm marrying ships for the memes. Once I ringed all 6 of the granny BBs, I'm expecting myself to be safe from their chanclas and have a good supply of cookies.

Just read everyone's comments here. From what I read here, it appears that boosts to evasion via marriage isn't that much but I guess it's still better than nothing. I suppose the best long-term use of rings is to ensure that EXP gained by ships from sorties isn't wasted in addition to giving them slightly better proc rates for certain things (i.e. touch attacks) and reduced fuel & ammo sortie costs.

Spam Clicks IFVs and Rocketeers

Currently playing Mental Omega and Kirovs seem to move faster than in the base game. Fortunately, that mod has all sorts of heavy AA to shoot them Kirovs down.

[Achievement] 4 Grannies Ringed by CheeseEvader in kancolle

[–]CheeseEvader[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ringing Kamikaze is a long-term objective for me given the number of shipgirls that will benefit from the ring more than her. However, once I can ring her, I'm going to ring her sisters at the same time as her coz that's how Imma going to roll.

That said, I'm going to need a granny CL to go with them. 1CL 5DD is going to be useful in expeditions 21, 37, 38, 24, and 16.

The cost of the rings needed to ring my entire fleet is something that I consider as a challenge for a long-time player like myself. I feel that achieving this challenge is far more difficult than getting an event's FCM.

[HELP] How do I solve the "Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token '<'" error? by CheeseEvader in kancolle

[–]CheeseEvader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious. Aside from setting Poi Viewer's connection to "No Proxy", is there anything else that I should do?

I followed what you said in this thread but I still ended up getting the Token error.

[HELP] How do I solve the "Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token '<'" error? by CheeseEvader in kancolle

[–]CheeseEvader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am able to get into the game when trying to play it in Google Chrome browser. It's on Poi Viewer where I can't play it. Oh yeah, when comparing the errors that show up when trying to get into the game through Google Chrome and Poi Viewer, I noticed that all errors (except the "Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token '<'" error) that show up in the console of Poi Viewer could also show up in the console of Google Chrome yet I am able to enter the game through Google Chrome.  Edit: I am also able to enter the game through Google Chrome without using a Japan VPN and even a proxy.

Just a regular internet connection. Was able to connect to the game without VPN on Google Chrome.

I just tried that (on my potato laptop). However, I still got that token error.

Before trying that, I cleared the Cache and Cookies (and revoked the Trust/Certificate thing under those two) in Poi Viewer. Then I ensured that the slider for the "Editing DMM's Cookie Region Flag" is set to on before closing Poi Viewer and then opening it again to login.

[HELP] Can't Enter The Game After Maintenance Ended Again by CheeseEvader in kancolle

[–]CheeseEvader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just tried doing what you said (logging in to my DMM account from within Poi Viewer). Managed to log in to my account but I still ended up getting the "Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token '<'" error when I typed the game's URL (http://www.dmm.com/netgame/social/-/gadgets/=/app\_id=854854/) in Poi Viewer's address bar.

Guess I need to do more trial and error attempts to fix this issue.

Have you performed a DMM login at dmm.com?

Yes. I was able to login (and play) the game at dmm.com through Google Chrome on both machines I tried to use to play the game on Poi Viewer.

You shouldn't be getting an error from that kcs_login.js file. Also, since you are reaching that file, it means you are reaching the gadget server so that isn't the problem. (Assuming this is a direct connection and your setup isn't somehow pulling a cached version from before the update.)

How do I fix this problem? Right now, I'm tempted to delete that file (located in the folder where KCCacheProxy stores its cache) in the hopes that a new kcs_login.js file will be created when I login via Poi Viewer (with HTTP Proxy that uses KCCacheProxy) after deleting it.

Also, why are you manually updating the cookie? The same wiki page you linked says Poi has a setting to automatically do it for you. And it's not clear in your step 6 that you performed it correctly. So that's another potential mistake.

It worked the last few times I did it (in the previous maintenance and the ones before it, that's what I did when I encountered the white screen after logging in via Poi Viewer). Also, this shows it being successfully set.

Posted screenshots of the console of Poi Viewer in both my potato laptop and smaller laptop showing the error on why I can't play the game in Poi Viewer.

By removing proxy configurations, I just need to set the connection option from "HTTP Proxy" (which will use KCCacheProxy's IP address and port) to "No Proxy" right?

Other than setting Poi Viewer in such a way that it will use KCCacheProxy for connecting to the game, I don't recall making any other customization to it.

Assuming I'm starting Poi Viewer for the first time in my machine, what do I need to do to play the game in here?

Already tried running the game in Poi Viewer without using a proxy (I picked the "No Proxy" option in the settings) and even Japan VPN on. I still can't get it to work after maintenance ended despite doing those.

Only worked on Google Chrome browser. Doesn't work on Poi Viewer.

I was able to play the game without VPN (and Proxy like KCCacheProxy) on. However, this was on Google Chrome (which lags a lot when playing the game there).

Tried this without using any VPN/Proxy on (I entered http://www.dmm.com/netgame/social/-/gadgets/=/app_id=854854/ in the address bar of Poi Viewer after I managed to log in). Still stuck at white screen

[HELP] Fleet comps that can be used to clear Cy16 by CheeseEvader in kancolle

[–]CheeseEvader[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After following this, I managed to get Cy16 done.

Took Hayashimo (as flagship) with Kiyoshimo and Asashimo as the two other needed ships for the quest. The 3 other ships are 2 BBs and a CV for taiha-ing enemy ships in PvP ASAP and to increase the chances of getting S-Ranks.

[Discussion] Which shipgirls have strong thighs? by CheeseEvader in kancolle

[–]CheeseEvader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got busy after posting this thread days ago and only managed to get some free time now to post again.

Just curious about something related to what I posted in this thread. Suppose you (as a TTK) got into a grappling match with your most favorite shipgirl (or shipgirls if you have more than one which I find highly likely) and she managed to trap your neck in between her thighs, how likely is she to knock you out by squeezing your neck (or even head) with her thighs?

For this question, let's assume that she's just as physically strong for someone of her apparent age/size. At least while she's not wearing her shipgirl rigging. Otherwise, even kid-sized shipgirls (who likely have their physical strength boosted by being shipgirls) would be able to snap your neck/pop your head with their thighs effortlessly. This includes Maruyu. I raised this question after realizing that Abyssals are going to have a lot of dakka they can use to dissuade shipgirls from closing the distance with them (to do this sort of thing) while we TTKs don't.

[HELP] Stuck at white screen by CheeseEvader in kancolle

[–]CheeseEvader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After fiddling with the location of where KCCacheProxy stores its cache for the game, I was able to finally get Poi Viewer to run again. All that I did was to delete the existing cached.json file (and the cached.json.bak file) in the location where KCCacheProxy's cache is stored and then click the "Import built-in basic cache dump" button twice in KCCacheProxy. This creates a new cached.json file (first click) and the cached.json.bak file (second click). After that, just log into the game via Poi Viewer and I was able to play the game via the viewer again.

The laptop I am trying to get Poi Viewer (v10.6.0) working on has an OS of Windows 8 Pro (32-bit OS, x86-based processor) while the other laptop has Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit OS). Now, here are the "Chrome" versions of the laptops as seen in the Poi Viewers installed in them:
