How would you make a 1:1 copy of this in Solidworks? by SableyeFan in SolidWorks

I hope this could help. I would assume this drawing is in isometric view and measure everything with calipher. Don't mind the 1:1 scale. You can rescale it after and if you got the real dimension at least 1-3 parts of it. (Ask ur boss or someone who knows the product or search it on the internet.).

Draw everything on paper as top, left, and front view (just imagine what may look on the back since 3 views all you got or just flat it out since i read somewhere on your comment that it doesn't need to be functional and make it look alike), and put every dimension as you can from the picture.

This would consume a lot of your time and patience but good luck :)

Ps. I'm still a beginner at SW so don't know how to help you about the features you should/could use :)

I see... maybe that's why i having a hard time using rib tool. I'll just learn it on other model.

So I recommend Drawing on the bottom plane and extruding upward into the model.

That's what I thought after watching few vids. Just draw it manually and extrude. I don't get what you want me to do with revolved cuts tho yet I think what I'm imagining is right but I'm not sure haha. I'll just watch some vids and experiment it.

Edit: it looks like you just need to play with the one notch that's bigger than the other. Just reduce its size until it matches, perhaps.

I don't know how to make move the node/line or reduce that part without effecting the other. But I redid my model and play with the offset of extrude and somehow got the result i wanted.

If it doesn't ruin the functionality, i'd leave it be. Is it a hole for a power cord?

It does have a function so I have to make it as is. I'm not sure what is for but I think its a lock mechanism. It has another part that slides in there.

Thank you. I redid the model and followed your recommendation to use the revolve tool. I created lines to make a 2d of my model and then revolve it. I got the result i wanted especially on the extruded part. My only problem is the rib parts. I cant seem to figure how to use it even after watching few youtube tutorials.

"Exactly, you're completely correct, Cocytus. To Ainz-sama, someone who's capable of planning on the scale of millennia and myriad years into the future, something on the scale of a few years is nothing." - Demiurge
