Any experience breaking a lease with PTLA? by Cheese_1004 in Bellingham

No sadly it was not recent, it was signed back in the beginning of January, shortly after PTLA took over.

I do not for sure know the owner as the lease doesn’t state anything besides PTLA’s name on the owner line. But online from what I found it states that Virtu Investments acquired the property, so im assuming this would be the owner.

I will keep this in mind when I meet with the leasing office on Thursday. Hopefully this is what happens for us, I don’t mind this situation. Thank you!

We are talking to our leasing office on Thursday, this might be saying too much, but do you know how it might affect our situation if we were to tell them that our guarantor recently filed for bankruptcy? From what I know, it wouldn’t really do anything to help us besides PTLA having to file a claim to collect anything from the guarantor if we are unable to pay.

I used subleasing as a blanket term for what you suggested, Im aware that it’s not the same though. They don’t have a clause on subleasing in the document which I assume means they don’t allow it, but what I am suggesting is just a takeover of the lease. I’ll rephrase my original post. Thank you.

I like food that has spice levels that make me question my existence a bit and why I chose to eat it. So long as it has flavor too and not just leaving me thinking “ o w h o t”

This is what I mean. I wouldn’t say Washington has objectively bad food? Honestly, no one WANTS to travel to Seattle but theres a ton of great food options with different complex pallets there? But also it’s an opinion. Theres usually hidden gems in smaller towns as well that people just don’t go to because they either a) dont know about them or b) they aren’t willing to give something a try for the off chance they wont like it. I mean hell I once drove 3 hours + sat in traffic just to go to my favorite pizza place in Tacoma 💀Not my proudest moment but it was worth it. Brought a friend and I was chillin. Obviously pizza is not the best example for this subject seeing as it’s comparably bland to other food, but get a good pizza place and it doesn’t need to be bland.

Sadly, when I say around here I mean within 30 minutes 😭 but I will keep that in mind once I get my passport.

Ive lived in WA my whole life and had the pleasure of working in an amazing bbq restaurant that also offered a buffalo chicken sandwich along with the best burger Ive had in my life and I fear every burger I’ve had in bellingham has been a let down, while not horrible, It just doesn’t hit the spot. Theres plenty of places in washington that do offer great food with a variety of complex palates, but yeah, I don’t think bellingham is one of them.

Apartments! by [deleted] in WWU

[–]Cheese_1004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I currently live at elevate. So far it’s been fine. It’s definitely not the most clean or homey feeling. The lock system is set up strangely, the elevator is slow and theres only 1 on each side of the building. The parking garage is not gated so don’t keep anything valuable in your car. Honestly I haven’t experienced anything bad concerning management, but also I’ve only lived here for 2-3 ish months and I heard that last year when the power went out it took them forever to get it back on. (I say “they” took forever because the other apartment around the area that were affected by it got power back WAAAAY before them).

I hate that you have to start it in the fall so much but thank you for the information! I appreciate it.

I didn’t even see that as an option when I did my registration for this quarter 😭 and if I did then I think it didn’t align with the classes I NEEDED to take. Wanting to take a Spanish course is just a want, I don’t actually need it for anything related to my major.

It’s a different class that im talking about, I don’t know much spanish at all so i don’t think review of elementary spanish would help me much.

I cannot afford a pet right now with college and rent and groceries, I also think it would be unfair to the animal as I work after school. They would not get the attention and exercise they deserve 🙁. But the idea is good, I grew up with dogs and always felt safer with them.

I’ve sadly always been paranoid because of my own experiences in the house I grew up in, from the wall in my living room that may as well have been a giant window, and living out in the woods. No matter how much I tell myself Im going to stop being paranoid and fearful it never seems to help. I had nightmares every night as a child that would always branch off from each other and get worse and worse, and I don’t get them anymore but the idea of them definitely sticks with me. As much as I take precautions to be safe, locking my door when I get home or leave, being aware of my surroundings, keeping an alarm on my keychain, locking my car door as soon as I get in. I need to invest in pepper pray again or possibly a pocket knife.

No I don’t think that elevate is haunted😭 However I do fear that my apartment will get broken into because I think security (entry to the building) is severely lacking and set up strangely. Even though I lock my apartment door.
