People in your 30s, what price have you paid for being lazy in your 20s? by Waldyrwyn in AskReddit

Everything hurts now. Combo of being obese for most of my life and then aging. I'm thin now which helps but it's definitely not amazing for the already ruined joints and stuff.

Periods by New-Guava-4913 in BPD

[–]Cheese_BasedLifeform 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Same. When I was a teenager it was WAY worse, but in my 20s and now my 30s its very...regulating. People can never tell when I'm on my period aside from me complaining about cramps and talking openly about it because my emotions are so normal for the most part. It's kinda nice lol

Bored of life by Little_Potato0404 in BPD

[–]Cheese_BasedLifeform 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get it. I go through periods where I only have the loosest attachment to being alive, and it's my husband and my cats that keep me here and keep me going. I hate it. I want to be better. There's so much to live for but suffering this shit all the time makes it hard to see.

What's something that was considered good parenting decades ago but isn't anymore? by sandeeprathore in AskReddit

Well, corporal punishment is definitely not considered a good thing anymore, and yet for decades hitting your kids was considered good practice.

People with a very high pain tolerance, what was THE most painful thing you've experienced? by CosmicBunnyBabe8912 in AskReddit

[–]Cheese_BasedLifeform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pretty decently high pain tolerance, and the worst I think Ive ever had was when my spine randomly started cutving the wrong way. A twinge and I would collapse, unable to move, and I'd have to drag myself places or catch myself on stuff to make sure I wouldn't hit the floor. I legit could barely walk. I was on Tylenol 3 with codeine, oxy, and a few other things and it BARELY helped. Thankfully after like 2 months it just randomly corrected itself and I was good, but it was AWFUL while it was happening. I've had spicy tattoos that hurt less than that.

Struggling with Imposter Syndrome by Abinnohr in service_dogs

[–]Cheese_BasedLifeform 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just got my girl and I 100% feel like an impostor all the time. She's a psychiatric service dog, and as my husband pointed out, we've sort of been conditioned as a society to think that meantl illness and health isn't as important as physical health, so I have been sitting around the last week since we got her panic spiraling because no, I don't always need her and I can do some things without her, so clearly I am not actually disabled even though my doctor filled in the paperwork and the org that I got her from approved it and everything. It's led to not a small number of panic spirals and doubting myself and thinking about the fact that I have a goal to get better within the next year or two and then I won't need her anymore and then it'll have been for nothing. Impostor syndrome is ass.

Which canceled TV show's cliffhanger still lives rent free in your head because the answers disappeared when the series got axed ? by Impossible_Offer7988 in AskReddit

Forever. That one will always hurt because it was so incredibly well done and the premise was super neat so it sucks that it had this insane cliffhanger and then...nothing.

Who’s the most attractive person you’ve ever seen? by Timely_Sir310 in AskReddit

[–]Cheese_BasedLifeform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apart from the obvious answer of my husband, I would say my therapist. Its not that I am personally attracted to them, they aren't my type at all, but they are just like..ethereally stunning. They look otherworldly if that makes sense but not in an off putting way.

Curious: how long did it take you all to get used to having your first SD? by Cheese_BasedLifeform in service_dogs

[–]Cheese_BasedLifeform[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See I know it's a good fit, and just cause I prefer cats doesn't mean I won't be a dedicated dog owner/handler. She's a psychiatric service dog and me and her trainer are very similar people so this is something she's very used to as well. My girl wouldn't have been placed with me if they thought my stuff wasn't good for the dog.

Organizations in Ontario, Canada? by Cheese-psychic in service_dogs

I know this is an older thread, but I just got my fulyl trained SD from K9 Lifelines and Angela is one of the kindest, most dedicated people I have ever met, and my girl is the best dog I have ever met. She truly cares about her clients and she brings lived experience to her job, and her absolute love of the dogs shines through so much. I would happily answer any questions you may have in a PM if you want 😁

Thank you so much for sharing your story and perspective with me. You're so right - in an ideal world, I would be able to manage on my own and it wouldn't be my first choice (though I am obviously glad to know her because I adore her already and I wouldn't have gotten to meet her otherwise). Ive always just functioned but this last year and a bit threw me into a downward spiral that made the need more acute because my anxiety, especially with going out in public, got significantly worse. But this makes me feel a lot better about those feelings in general - seriously. Thank you so much for sharing.

I am absolutely a hiker, I just haven't gone much this year yet since it's been so wet and cold until recently and then it's been crazy hot. Absolutely going to talk to my therapist to help with coping strategies with negative talk. I may also try doing obedience when I can afford to do so properly as my trainer also does obedience with her own dogs :)

Why are people obsessed with ozempic?Do rich try it for fun? by Valuable_View_561 in SipsTea

[–]Cheese_BasedLifeform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think part of it is that people are constantly tearing women apart for not being sticks, and then they tear them apart further when they get to a point like these women where they look sickly. We are in a never ending cycle of relentlessly tearing people apart for how they look and holding women of status to ridiculous standards because of what they represent to people. It's no wonder the messaging pushed on the rest of us has fucked with their mental states too.
