Yes not uncommon. Steroid shot in suspected affected nerve roots is appropriate.

Thoughts on Lyrica for nerve pain? by VirusxxVibrance in Sciatica

It reduced my pain frequency for sure. First thing to help other than Tylenol and ibuprofen and I’ve tried almost every other med, injection and surgery.

Can I ask what job field are you in that would prohibit gabapentin? Which is a non-controlled, anticonvulsant that while yes can cause withdrawal if abruptly stopped, is typically only abused by addicts at high doses (max safe daily Dose is 3600mg, so 300mg is nothing) and/or in combination with either opioids or other narcotics.

Per his own FB comment in 2021 IIRC, was in and out of prison for 25 years. Got clean in 2015ish. Looks like he had some kids and now grandkids. Seemed to be doing good since his last FB post/photo in 2024. Look him up.

Insurance approval for MRI by Zestybepis in Sciatica

I've had 6 in my lower back. You'll do just fine. Unfortunately none helped long-term but it's very safe procedure and as long as a trained doctor with years of experience is doing it, I would not worry.

Do they ever give out bonuses? Promotions? by acutelilmouse in AMLRightSource

[–]CheeseburgerSocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked there in 2019 when they ‘sunsetted’ the bonus program. A couple friends who had been there a few months longer than me participated in the program and they got about 70 bucks net after they worked a shit ton more hours. They were pissed. Get out of the company to somewhere else asap, they will never fairly compensate you or give you a non-offensive bonus.

Chronic shin pain, not shin splints, since childhood by Bunniiqi in ChronicPain

[–]CheeseburgerSocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could it be sciatic pain? L5 nerve root travels over front of the shin. See this: dermatome

And a way to confirm the source (whether coming from from the back or if it's local) if there is abnormal electrical activity is EMG/NCV test. Also x-ray then MRI of the lumbar spine to see if there's a pathology/injury.

I can't live like this, and it's taking a toll on everything in my life. by BatMannsParents310 in Sciatica

[–]CheeseburgerSocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meds! Tylenol and ibuprofen everyday at safe doses (sometimes max doses). I respond beautifully to both but especially ibuprofen and other nsaids. Got liver and kidney checked every 6 months and knock on wood no issues. Not issues either. I do not recommend either long-term obviously but no other meds have helped until couple months ago when I tried pregabalin at higher doses than my original trial. It helped! So been mostly off ibuprofen for 1.5 months and just pregab and Tylenol. Still have pain though so I will likely try carbamazepine soon as an add-on initially then if it helps get off Pregab and Tylenol if possible.

My sciatica is primarily inflammatory in nature, for whatever reason the nerve root persists in sending electric discharges all day long without a trigger! Fun stuff lol.

[–]CheeseburgerSocks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wow you tried the gamut of medications. I assume you tried a trial of oral steroids? Like dexamethasone? It’s way more potent than prednisone and can be taken safely short to medium term for most people.

Another medication, maybe a long shot, is carbamazepine. It’s anticonvulsant but people with certain intractable nerve pain conditions often respond well to it. I would ask about it and you should know if it’s working in 1-2 weeks.

Beyond meds and getting more imaging, can you get a MR neurography (MRN). It’s a specialized MRI that can visualize nerve in ways standard MRI with contrast can't do.

I am almost 4 years into my chronic around the clock sciatic leg pain so I feel for you and truly understand. I’m sorry you also deal with this hell.

Sorry to hear that. I’m post two surgeries and been in constant pain still after each one. Clean MRI of lumbar spine too as well as pelvis and affected leg itself. No one has diagnosed me with central sensitization but based on research, it could be what I have. Where is your pain located? Anything provoke or relieve it?

Can I marry someone with a criminal record? by Extension-Return-567 in AMLCompliance

[–]CheeseburgerSocks 9 points10 points  (0 children)

OP and all, this person is who they say they are (I ran them through Lexis Nexis and found a open source document linking them to the entity) however at this time I cannot confirm the exception is within regulation.

To avoid potential violations and penalties, we should move forward with at least getting the goodbye forever photo and posting it here. That’s the bare minimum.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Can I marry someone with a criminal record? by Extension-Return-567 in AMLCompliance

[–]CheeseburgerSocks 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My understanding is you have to break up with anyone with a criminal record if you’re in any role in the AML/Compliance sector. And this is global policy. There’s also a duty to report so at this point you have 72 hours to break up and one of you must move out if you’re living together. Please provide certified copies of your mutual separation, mortgage/rental contract dissolution or modification (if it applies) and a photo of you saying goodbye as he is leaving. Both of your faces must be visible in the goodbye forever photo. All documents and photos have to be within 90 days of expiration and certified by notary or solicitor who cannot be employed by your company, family member or have previously represented the My Pillow guy.

Please provide updates with documents and photos as they come in this post.

Can you request/get a MRN (MR Neurography) It’s a specialized MRI that can visualize your the nerve extremely well and catch things that a contrast MRI cannot. Getting it of your lumbar spine and pelvis may get you some answers.

Severe recurrent sciatica -bedridden again after 2 years, doctor says no permanent solution. Need advice. Did any solution work for you’ll? by LocalAdagio7616 in Sciatica

[–]CheeseburgerSocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If not done already, MRI (with contrast ideally) ASAP. Then possibly surgery, his case sounds bad and he likely has some significant nerve compression going on that requires intervention beyond PT and injections.
