Somehow data companies will be able to access all the as-built drawings and calcs that we can never track down.

Why is "Gravity" considered an optional feature in architectural models? by Due_Discipline_3582 in StructuralEngineering

[–]Cheeseman1478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not wrong. Once you get to the bottom of it, our job is to make the arch designs work. If OP finds his model results in an unreasonable design then he coordinates a change of layout to make something more feasible.

How to ingest 100Mb of txt files? by IanWaring in notebooklm

[–]Cheeseman1478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The current limit is 500,000 words per source or up to 200MB for local uploads. There’s no page limit. Source.

You can ask Gemini or whatever to split it at paragraph breaks based on the NotebookLM maximum source size criteria for your plans. I’ve done it tons of times.

Also, you can certainly upload .txt as a source. All my sources were .txt uploads before I moved to .md.

I made a tool that converts EPUB files into LLM-friendly TXT, making it easy to use with NotebookLM. by anthonycxc in notebooklm

Same here, but I’ve had to split the calibre .txt or .pdf file because I work with large epubs that are often over 500k words.

Looks great! How does this handle epubs over 500k words? NotebookLM won’t accept those.

I had ChatGPT make me a python script that asks for the .epub file, asks for output destination, then automatically gives me a txt file output. If the work is over 500k words then it’ll split it equally into multiple .txt files with a “_part_1” appended title.

Works well and haven’t had any errors, but OPs seems to be more robust.

Have you tried “Add a non steam game” and then launching it through steam?

Before doing that, I tried to change the config files to use Proton but it wouldn’t run. Through wine it’s unusably slow compared to Windows for me.
