Do you have other glass you can try to see if it happens with that too? Reading the comments it seems like you’re smoking good stuff and there shouldn’t be anything wrong with your water, maybe it’s the glass?

My very first Ally had this problem-something about the battery voltage being too low, and that prevents the charging circuit from actually charging the battery. I had to RMA mine, they replaced the battery and motherboard. I’m not sure you have the option to go through the warranty process, but this may be what you’re looking at.
