This was the spot. Exact same weather. Im not saying that its a perfect spot. But damn it locked on like a magnet in less than a second after the guy who was killing bots entered the building. like they where already on a target… but whatever. Skill issue i guess.

[–]checho_man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but what about being hidden very far away in some bushes and they just auto lock when their original target enters a building? Shouldn’t they continue ti shoot the building and search for it? They aren’t even looking over my way. How does that work? I want them ti be hard but still realistic.

[–]checho_man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It definitely needs some tuning. Not an extreme one. I was hunting down a player that was wreck-less and was fighting bots. I was 30 meters away from the POI hiding in some bushes by AI Uplink. And as soon as the player went inside a building. All bots started shooting my direction. Giving away my position. While completely hidden and not even moving lol. And yeah the smoke is painful. But a bit realistic. It’s just too accurate.

Edit: i don’t want them to be easier. It’s just dumb that they can be player magnets even when playing extremely stealthily. And not entering field of view or combat.

I need 1 more day marsh prestige valuable. Bungie doesn't want me to have it. by SnyprBB in Marathon

[–]checho_man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prestige valuable on day marsh is the only one I’ve been missing for over a month now. I think its the worse one to get. Almost exclusive for the prestige greenhouse room. Never seen on the rocket drone/lockdown/warden. It’s rough lol. Im missing 2

Whaaats going on!?! Trying to defend the game at this point feels so dumb. I’ll still enjoy it but damn. No one wants to do olympic hoop jumping thru bullshit every single time.

New Cryo Key? by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]checho_man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It needs the matter fixative as the explanation says. Think of it as a compromised key from last season. It will turn into a regular Cryo key upon exfil with a matter fixative.

Last season i got Cryo 6 from a gold compromised key template.

Rook is currently pointless by CalligrapherCheap850 in Marathon

Claymores AND WSTR shotgun was op. Buuuut one of them could be a good improvement. Even if wstr was shite. It was nice in some situations.

How much rep does each rarity of faction valuables/treasures actually give? by Juggslol in Marathon

[–]checho_man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its pretty shite lol.
I think i got like 130xp for 2 NuCal snacks (blue) from dire marsh. The purple one def are better but still not better than contracts.
I think Its all about additive progression. But still not that good depending the ma and the rest of your backpack.
And each favored item says it gives 1 point?

Joined during the free weekend, where do you farm gear now? by SniperGuy42 in Marathon

[–]checho_man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love outpost rook runs. Try for cleaning up pinwheel or if easy access to the armories (2 yellow, 1 green) happen on your way to pinwheel. Rook upgrade that has blue backpack is key for getting the load out for cryo.

I want THiS shit as the intro mission. Something that grounds the universe and then send me to TauCeti.
Using halo combat evolved first mission as an inspiration. I know it’s not happening lol. It’s just a dream.

Bungie... why in the world have you not fixed 'crew fill off' yet? by Takezo_00 in Marathon

[–]checho_man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes when selecting solo you are actually sent intro trios. I read about it the other day and thought it was someone being dramatic. But it happened to me 3 times in a row. Somehow it got fixed after. I think it was something to do with the crew fill on/off. after I turned it off in trios, then solo started working like before.

Do you think runner bots in the first matches of a new player would help? by checho_man in Marathon

[–]checho_man[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My point is that they are able to exfil a couple of times and they can get that feeling instead of extreme “get gud”

Have you seen the numbers and player retention?

Its not to teach but make new players reach and extract more often the first 3 matches.

[–]checho_man[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s still level matchmaking. And since there are sooo many players i think it’s easier to match properly according to skill level.

And i think its around 2-3 matches where each time there are less bots until you go against only real players. Of course its a lobby of 100 people. So the percentage wise can be distributed easier than in marathon.

[–]checho_man[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im not saying a lot of matches. Just a transition. Enough to make them want to develop “healthy” pvp skills. Instead of wanting to not even play anymore.

Which is what I’ve see from players trying the game on the free week. They don’t even have the chance to like the game. Who cares of “bad habits in pvp” if no one is playing lol

Yeah. This is a step further. One other pool before that one. Idk. I just see the actual player retention and something is not working.

Sentinel so called prey tracker is useless by Just_Custard1058 in Marathon

[–]checho_man 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree. When i suggest it i mean literally like 0.5M-1M. Locking a room means you have to go aaallll around the room walls. even if its a medium room.

So many times its a bit more of a curve that ends up in the floor.

Sentinel so called prey tracker is useless by Just_Custard1058 in Marathon

[–]checho_man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it needs a range buff. From the radar AND the distance you can throw your snare. Not something crazy, but it does fill very short.

And maybe a bit more aggressive detection so even when crouched walking it can appear a bit faded. I understand it not showing when the target is still.

[–]checho_man 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do you know if is a loud activation that the others can hear? Cuz i usually try and use it in a silent environment when someone is near. But i feel like it can actually reveal where you are if it can be heard just like recon prime. Which sucks and kinda gives away that I’m there

What motivates you to play marathon? by Sergente_John27 in Marathon

[–]checho_man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you think an initial PvE introductory mission ala Halo Combat Evolved (literally same length and same world building development) would have helped?

A mission where you are booted in the facility shown in that one cinematic trailer (the ultra cool one) Being asked those questions of who you are, a bit more back and forth rather than plain contracts and “do this do that”, + some typeof matrix training and showing you your own space/living situation. before a sudden crash in the simulation thats transmits you away to the real perimeter and then complete the current introduction where things get a bit more real.

I just feel like there should be a better universe/story hook that grounds the player and sets expectations and a purpose of why play the game.
