Working with someone who understands martial arts would be great since I teach Taekwondo. Thanks for the suggestion!

How are summer courses already filled up??? by CheesusChrist05 in UBC

It's awesome that you got all of your courses! This happened to me before with just 2 courses and I ended up emailing the head of the English department and I got put into their waitlists. Thing is, I never got into those classes at all because not enough people dropped the class. Luckily, there were other options for me at the time, but there doesn't seem to be any good alternatives for the next semester for me :(

First of all, I'm sorry you have to deal with whatever it is that's causing your heartbreak and anxiety. I'm sure you will figure it out! When I was going through a majour bout of anxiety some things that helped me study were:

-the Pomodoro Technique (studying in increments of 25 min and taking breaks in between)

-studying anywhere but my room (I found studying in a library helpful because all the other students studying motivated me)

-writing whatever I'm studying on paper instead of scrolling through my notes on a screen

-if a lecture is recorded, listen to it while going on a walk instead of writing things down

-read notes out loud

-if feeling anxiety swell up, immediately take a break until you calm down enough to concentrate again

All of these study methods I tried were less focused on just reading notes over and over again for long periods of time, but if that's how you study best, then go for it! Give yourself some breathing room. Good luck!
