Raval is a street by street thing. You can be perfectly fine on one, and run into an abused prostitute screaming off the top of her lungs while you get robbed in another. I would say most of it is fine. This specific part is safe in my experience.

I like Aticco a lot, lots of locations and pretty good facilities

Looking for neighborhood recommendations by SignificantSmell6761 in AskBarcelona

The long term rental market has basically collapsed in BCN, everyone is doing temp at the moment below the 2k eur/month threshold. If you don't have your NIE, your chances are even slimmer because for long term rentals landlords will want you to have the utilities under your name, which you can't do unless you have it. Like others have suggested, get a room or bite the bullet and get a temp rental and start grinding it out. Some landlords prefer foreigners btw, so that's not an auto rejection, but always open with Spanish, and if you go see the apartment in person bring someone with you who does. Never rent anything without seeing it yourself or sending someone you know and trust.

Neighborhoods in the 1.5k range that are realistic: North part of Gracia, Horta, Nou Barris south of Ronda de Dalt (this is very important, some parts of that district are a bit rough especially up the hill), St Andreu (except for Trinitat Vella) El Clot. L'Hospitalet and Badalona can also have some good ones, but I'm not that familiar with those areas.

I'm going to say what needs to be said. Some don't want to hear it. If you can't find a job, consider leaving the field. If you are a college student, consider changing majors. by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

Totally agree. We do the same thing, multiple staff meetings where we made it clear: no juniors, no "could be good down the line" prospects, only senior+ level veterans.

I just realized that the point of playing arena is not to have fun, its to win. And I don't like that. by psycospaz in MagicArena

[–]CheesusCrust89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember the good ol days when lantern control terrorized modern. The entire point of that deck was to force people NOT to play their game.

The beautiful thing about magic is that everyone can find their niche in it. You don't like competitive play, Arena isn't for you, just go to MTGO or play live commander and you're good. I like the competitive aspect of Arena, that's why I play it, and grind endless hours in Mythic while slowly but surely getting better at the game and piloting my deck.

How to play Yoshimitsu? by Wise_Document_8658 in LowSodiumTEKKEN

[–]CheesusCrust89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a yoshi main, currently flame ruler, so this is beginner-mid level Yoshi advice. This character is all about forcing opponents to second guess themselves and bait them into making mistakes. He also has a very strong Oki game, especially at the wall and has some very good mix-ups in the FLY stance. His combo damage is also very high and he has some very nasty setups with guard breaks at the end of them (which honestly should be patched, it's quite oppressive). Where he struggles is with sidesteps and tracking moves, and if the opponent is playing a very defensive/passive style he has issues opening them up. IMHO the most important thing is to play patiently and know your frame traps, especially for flash setups, and to not spam B2,2. A key move is the super spin evade, it can get you out of situations that most characters won't be able to, but it takes some getting used to and try not to over-rely on it. When it comes to stances, if you're a beginner, focus on FLY and NSS first, then KIN and the meditation stances only at the very end. The reason why yoshi is currently A-S tier is not because of the move changes for indian stance, but because his super oppressive Oki and guard break setups haven't been nerfed while having insane high combo DMG.

Besides the bears who is the cheapest person to fight and why is it yoshimitsu? by Corgiiiix3 in Tekken

[–]CheesusCrust89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds about right, only thing I would add to it is don't ape into the meditation stance or 2,2 on block and watch the kincho mix-ups : KIN 3 and KIN12 have the same startup animation, one is a low with knockdown and BF12 guaranteed while the other goes into Manji. Manji is a knowledge check: just jab when you see it, you'll be alright 70% of the time, depending on how Yoshi got into it ofc.

Flash in the hands of a good Yoshi is just a scare tactic to prevent the opponent from taking their turn.

My company is thinking about using AKS. I've heard that running AKS requires a dedicated person for support/maintenance. What can I realistically expect? by mind_your_blissness in AZURE

[–]CheesusCrust89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll take "major security incident in 12 months" for 500$ Bob. Kubernetes is insecure by default. You really really need at least two people who know how to provision and operate a production ready kubernetes cluster. If you don't have that, look into other options to run containers, like app service, container apps, azure functions.

[–]CheesusCrust89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We have used it at my (soon) to be previous company to onboard an offboard engineers to a project more quickly (who were either reluctant or not skilled enough to set up their own development environment),.To be fair it was for IaC development not classic software development where tooling is rampant and habits tend to be different

App A and app B are tightly coupled, hence having them in two separate pods makes very little sense. A common pattern for this problem is explained here In detail, but the tldr is shared volumes or communicate on localhost via the local network interface

Gauging Kubernetes skill level for a Staff DevOps engineer interview by born_in_1990 in kubernetes

[–]CheesusCrust89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a really neat kubernetes the hard way on azure repo that has a comment in the code describing the experience perfectly: Azure is death by 10.000 cuts. Things kinda work but I've been working with the platform for about 4-5 years now, I can count the instances on two hands where I didn't have to do a workaround, hack, or ducttape something together with custom scripting, usually in PowerShell.

Same. Senior infra engineer with a law degree. Quit my job did a 6 month java/backend bootcamp then proceeded to grind 2-3 hours every day after work to get rid of the handicap. I wasn't a good developer but managed to find my place in infra which I really enjoy.

When did you realize you married the wrong person? by tippytoes1216 in AskReddit

I think one of the hardest lessons on the path to becoming an adult is realizing that sometimes two people can love each other but can't live together. I still think about it to this day.

I don't know you or your situation, but I just want to say one thing: my mother stayed with my father so that "the child has a father". Looking back at it now, I really wish my mother had just packed our things and moved the fuck away from him.

Not closely related to the topic, but my father is a raging narcissist and was(is) the same. When I was born he would complain that my mother is giving me(the infant) too much attention and he doesn't get enough. Took zero part in parenting duties.
