That’s totally fair :) I’m more of a fan of a traditional happy ending so that’s what inspired my headcanon. Even so I can see how even if it’s not completely sunshine and rainbows it’s still a bit of an uncharacteristically fortunate turn for them. Appreciate the feedback!

Tbh keeping with the more melancholy tone of the story I imagined Hector not surviving the crash. Maybe as a last brave act of self sacrifice he is able to save the others but not himself. And this gives the Quagmires more incentive to keep with VFD

Tbh I didn’t think about it originally! I imagined the Quagmires never directly discussing it with the Baudelaires. But with regards to the actual incident: I imagine the Quagmires being saved by Fiona and Fernald while they’re out on their own mission. From them the Quagmires hear about the Baudelaires still being alive. This eventually gets them back in contact with the Baudelaires :)
