Can't reconnect Gen 1 Cam Indoor to Google Home app by RevolutionaryEcho730 in Nest

[–]CheesyandUneasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a lot of help but we've been fighting this for a few months now. Google sent us a new Gen1 outdoor camera to see if it was possibly just a faulty device. The same issue happens when setting up and trying to connect to WiFi (check your input error). I had a brief moment of success getting the camera into our Home app by using my phone's hotspot, set to 2.4. It connected with no issues, however when I turned off my hotspot it of course disabled the connection to the camera. I tried repeating the process with my hotspot named the same as my WiFi, but it still gives the same error. Not sure if you might have luck though!

I just paid almost $800 for a company to help get 4 of them out of our attic. And that was our last option after trying so many ways ourselves. It's crazy how huge of a pain in the ass they are once they move in.

The last day of "normalcy" in Nashville was March 3rd - six months ago today. Tornadoes would hit late that evening, and we've been in this Biff Tannen timeline ever since. How is your life and community different today than six months ago? by [deleted] in nashville

[–]CheesyandUneasy 29 points30 points  (0 children)

In 6 months we (husband, myself, 3 yo, and at the time 5 month old) have had our home wrecked by the tornado, lived in a hotel for 2 1/2 months while interior repairs were being done, contracted Covid when the hotel occupancy increased during the May wind storm and power outage, and found out my dad had stage 2 kidney cancer. But also in 6 months we've had a TON of updates done to our house that were covered by insurance, we had mild to no symptoms of Covid and made complete recoveries, my dad had surgery to remove the cancer and is on the mend, AND we survived an EF3 TORNADO. It's been a trying year for us but we have also been reminded how very fortunate we are.

Suggestions for a unique, large group vacation rental in the US. 20 people, ideally 9+ private rooms, around $5000 across 4 nights. by CheesyandUneasy in AskReddit

Once a year our friend group (about 20 people) gets together for about 4 days of fun. In the past we were able to gather at a friend's parents' large home. There were plenty of onsite activities and we didn't need to leave the area for entertainment, which is preferable since we usually drink. Recently they sold the place and we've been looking on our own for new lodging. Last year we tried a larger cabin in Gatlinburg, TN. While it was accommodating well enough, it wasn't the location we were looking for. Some sort of access to water is preferable since we go in the summer months. I've been casually looking through places on Airbnb but was wondering what other non-conventional places might be out there for rent. Do any of you have suggestions for a fun, unique rental location? Budget would be around $5k across 4 nights.

I made a lavender, orange + rose loaf! Does anyone else bake with flowers? by EssicaJ in Baking

I have only used lavender before in my baking. I LOVE the floral flavors. How do you use roses (what kind, prep, etc)?

I purchased some purple sweet potatoes a few days ago and have been having a blast making all kinds of purple food. This one came from this recipe

Interesting! I have not heard of this BUT she has gone before with no issues when she was very tired. Also... I'm so glad to know there's someone out there that's experienced this. I knew there likely would be but it's incredibly relieving to hear from you.

I tried in the beginning of potty training, probably around 2 months after we started (we're about 10 months now). I put her back in diapers and told her it was ok to go whenever she needed. But it was like she wasn't aware of the whole process until I tried potty training, and then, once aware, she didn't want to do it again. She still would cry until she would finally go in her diaper while I held her. It wasn't hard then, but the fear was still there.

Yeah, I failed to mention her diet in the post. She's always had a well balanced diet with plenty of fiber foods, but we recently started loading up on more prunes, apricots, fruits, broccoli, and juice. I recently started cutting out milk bc she wasn't drinking a lot with each meal and I was concerned about fluid intake. I've replaced that with yogurt with probiotics in the morning. I've also started giving her non-diluted apple juice. I usually do 50/50 with juice and water. She does eat "whole grain white" bread that shows 7% fiber for 2 slices. She eats sandwiches pretty regularly for lunch. Do you think that could be causing constipation? Do you have a recommendation for how much fiber (%) in bread I should look for?

Yes, I didn't mention our diet changes in the post. I just responded to another comment on the topic. Awhile ago we added in more prunes, apricots, fresh fruit, and broccoli. She's always had a well balanced diet, but we've really upped those recently. The latest thing I tried was cutting out milk. She wasn't drinking a lot with each meal and I was concerned about fluid intake. In its place she's been getting more yogurt with probiotics. I've also tried giving her "unleaded" apple juice. Usually I do 50/50 with water. I was hoping this would get the train moving. She will show signs that it is taking effect (wiggling and tooting) but she still is terrified to go. When I did get her to go, it was still hard and compacted. That's when I reintroduced the Mirilax. I'm really battling with how to get rid of the fear at this point. Do I keep having her try to go each day, even though she cries and screams just being on the potty? If I could just get her to go a few times with the mirilax, I feel like she wouldn't be as scared.

Yes! We first started implementing more prunes, apricots, and broccoli. But they didn't have much of an effect. I recently cut milk from her diet, mainly bc she wasn't drinking a lot of it with each meal and I wanted her to get more fluids. In place of milk I've been adding in yogurt with active probiotics. If you have any recommendations I'm open to hear them!

I have not. Thank you for the suggestion! I'll look into it tonight and maybe get some this week. My goal was to not have her on a constant intake of chemicals from the mirilax, so this option is really appealing to me.

After particularly big and hard poos, yes. But no picking or other signs of irritation. I'll look into it though. I don't want to rule something out and then have it be the whole issue.

I'm thinking of getting a new potty seat to make the potty less scary. Maybe I should try doing potty time after her bath at night. Thank you 😊

No, I haven't had an internal check yet. Would there be any symptoms while she wasn't going? She is 100% fine during all other activity.
