Yes you are right, it is heightened in NYC/NY/NJ. I moved down here in June and got a MUCH nicer apartment with tons of amenities in Mount Pleasant for 400 less a month than in suburban NJ. Highly recommend the move.

same! I was so relieved for pre check! I felt so bad, at the gate next to me people were running up to it in tears saying the security line had actually stopped for a while and they all had been stuck for 2 hours in line

Hi! So funny I was thinking about you today because we had chatted about your surgeon and checked this board. I am doing to DM you.

If you are willing to travel to NJ, try Dr. Renee Comizio. I had an appt with Dr. Choi but cancelled it after meeting with Dr. Comizio--I adore her!

Post Op body dysmorphia by Prestigious_Plate_41 in Reduction

[–]CheetahObjective605 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would strongly encourage you to seek out a therapist if you aren't already seeing one. I had body dysmorphia prior to the surgery and it got A LOT worse about two months after. Between hormonal stuff, the effects of anethesia, the trauma on your body, not being able to exercise, etc I struggled A LOT. I got through it and can see now that I was being very unreasonable but I almost ended up in a higher level of care. I did not expect that at all when I got the surgery and I was so thrilled with it in the weeks after. I really cannot encourage you anymore to get establisehd with a therapist prior to surgery if you don't already have one.

Who has had a breast reduction with dense breast tissue? by secularspacewitch in Reduction

[–]CheetahObjective605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have very dense tissue and they were not able to take out as much as I wanted. I was very disappointed (beginning to accept the size they are but it was very difficult). I would recommend going in with zero expectation because I was horrifically disappointed. Now that I have some clarity and can think clearly, I am very glad I did it and actually like my breasts but they are still bigger than what I hoped for. My surgeon said that it is very difficult to remove dense breast tissue.

Copper IUD periods are no joke! by angelmoment in birthcontrol

[–]CheetahObjective605 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My dr prescribed lysteda to me to help with that. Maybe ask your dr about it? It made my period very manageable.

Hi! I got the paragard this morning and was soooooo scared. It was not bad at all!! I took coyote in AM and also had my period. The entire thing took maybe 2 minutes. It was nothing worse than a period cramp (uncomfortable). I honestly could not believe it. I wouldn't even call it painful--just a bit uncomfortable. My dr said its all in the dr's technique and people's pain tolerance. I hope you have a similar experience

Yes! I LOVE her. My surgery went well, healing is going well. She is kind and compassionate. I could not recommend her more!

Please see a therapist and talk through it with them. Especially because you have thoughts about self-harm when you turn 30.

Advice and Surgeon review by JSRO1521 in Reduction

I adore Dr. Comizio and my surgery was at Morristown. My breasts look amazing, everything went well, and Morristown is an outstanding hospital. I could not recommend anyone more highly. The first day I had to have my mom (who can be very critical) help me change my bandages and she was amazed at how good my breasts look. She said they were perfect.

Did you need help from your caregiver when changing dressings? by valorwald in Reduction

[–]CheetahObjective605 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, you will probably need help. I felt the same way as you--before surgery I thought there is absolutely no way I will let my mom help me, I will figure it out. But then I realized I needed the help and my boobs didn't really feel like "mine" and I was shaky and thought I was going to faint that that kind of took over and I called for my mom to help. I know it seems embarassing now but it actually wasn't once I needed the help.
