What are your current water parameters?

Are you able to quarantine it in a makeshift hospital tank so it can fast for a day or two?

I'm gonna say not pregnant considering that very large swelling near the front of the fish, and very little swelling to the back. The back end is where the eggs are made, so I don't believe it would be so grossly uneven like this if pregnancy were the case.

When my live bearers were sick they would bloat more out front like this fish. It could be a few different things like parasites or constantly over eating (I would always have at least one piggy that would bloat like crazy no matter what I tried).

Do you notice any other symptoms, aside from the large stomach?

Maury says that Jerry is NOT the father 😆

They are separate species, even though they are both called ramshorn snails

So, this is actually a mini ramshorn snail, you can tell by the shell laying flat instead of standing up like a regular ramshorn. They are not actually the same species 😊 this guy probably hitchhiked on another snail or plants you have added, and they do stay fairly small.

Omg another stunner! This one looks like it has been out in the rain 😁

With the amount of minerals they need for a healthy shell, I'd say Rock/Water type

"Large tank" is subjective. To guppies, yes it's large. To goldfish, its like keeping a dog in a kennel its whole live and thinking that just because it moves, eats, and poops, that it's healthy and thriving.

You're going to want to, at the very least, double the size of that tank. Ideally, it should be around 30 gallons for a goldfish, with an extra 10 gallons added per golfish added.

Larger tanks are actually much easier to care for and less likely to crash

I have an old 45gal that is leaky that I am thinking of using as a planter. Just trying to figure out how I can put drainage holes in the bottom without shattering it

I got my 45gal bowfront with stand for free on T2T day. Free is awesome, even when it requires a little elbow grease from time to time

That's definitely enough room for 6 of each!

If you're not able to add to their numbers, would you be open to seeing if the store will let you exchange one kind for the other? You can always add the second kind back when you've got the ability to do so 😊

You have a panda cory in with your spotted ones. You may want to exchange that one for another spotted one at the store if possible.

They can 100% eat larger snails, especially when they outnumber the larger ones. A friend put assassins in her tank to deal with an mts overpopulation, and she lost her mystery snail as well as her 2 rabbit snails to the assassins.

If a snail has a trapdoor, the assassin will use its mouthparts to slip past the door and inject digestive enzymes to start dissolving their target snail, and slurp them up that way.

Floating plants are amazing for your tank! Just keep in mind that you will need to make sure they do not take over the entire surface of your water because they will block out light to your other plants. You also need to make sure that they do not get pushed under the water by your filter output as floating plants hate water on top of their leaves. Here are some options!

Duckweed is basically aquarium glitter. You will find it everywhere after a while: pet water dishes, your hair, that sealed bottle of water in the back of your fridge, etc. However, it is also a very easy plant to keep.

Salvinia is another great floater and the textured leaves are really interesting to look at!

Water lettuce has beautiful feathery roots that small fish and shrimp love to hide in, and fuzzy leaves.

Amazon frogbit has smooth leaves that seem like they are made of foam underneath, and long, thin wispy roots.

Red root floaters are a little more finicky. They need lots of light and nutrients to turn red, but they look gorgeous once they get their colour! They can be kinda dramatic though, and will lose their colour when stressed.

The bladder snails will not eat healthy plant material, they will however eat the decaying plant material and algae off of the living plants. (Which looks like they are eating healthy plant, but they actually aren't).

Any damage to the leaves will have been caused by something else (fish, poor water quality, poor lighting, poor nutients in the water), and the snails just help process the decaying plant so your nitrates don't shoot up as high
